	Remove
1	Put transmission into neutral position.
2	Release parking brake.

4	Release right catalytic converter from holders and clamps.		AR49.20-P-0102MNI
5	Remove lower holders from right catalytic converter.
6	Remove heat shield (2).
7	Remove bracket of heat shield (2).
8	Remove right holder of lower rear engine compartment lining.
9	Remove heat shield from transmission.		AR27.40-P-0700-01LF
10	Operate service brake and remove bolts (3).	Do not counterhold the propeller shaft (1) at the universal joint. The needle roller bearings and seals of the propeller shaft (1) will otherwise be damaged. Aid of helper required.
11	Remove transfer case (9).		AR28.10-P-0100MNI
12	Detach propeller shaft (1) from front axle differential and remove downward.
13	Check seal bellows (6) for damage.	If damage is found, ↓ replace sealing bellows (6).	AR41.10-P-0070-01A
		Long-life grease (NLGI grade 2)	BB00.40-P-0266-02A
	Install
14	Grease splined profile (8).	Klueber Microlube GNY 202	*BR00.45-Z-1071-06A
15	Attach propeller shaft (1) to splined profile (8) of transfer case (9).	The marking (arrow) on the output flange gearing must line up exactly with the marking (arrow) on the drive shaft (1).
16	Install transfer case (9).		AR28.10-P-0100MNI

17	Position propeller shaft (1) on front axle differential.
18	Operate service brake and screw in screws (3).	Do not counterhold the propeller shaft (1) at the universal joint. The needle roller bearings and seals of the propeller shaft (1) will otherwise be damaged.
		Replace bolts (3). Aid of helper required. Screw/bolt, propeller shaft to front axle gear	*BA33.30-P-1012-03G
19	Install heat shield on transmission.		AR27.40-P-0700-01LF
		Bolt, heat shield to oil pan	*BA27.10-P-1009-04H
20	Install right holder of lower rear engine compartment lining.
21	Install bracket of heat shield (2).	Collar bolt, holder for heat shield to transmission/holder for exhaust system	*BA33.30-P-1010-03G
22	Install heat shield (2).	Collar bolt, heat shield to holder of heat shield/retaining plate/front axle differential	*BA33.30-P-1009-03G
23	Remove lower holder from right catalytic converter.	Bolt, exhaust system bracket to transmission	*BA49.10-P-1009-02E
		Bolt, bracket for catalytic converter to catalytic converter/bracket	*BA49.10-P-1011-02E
24	Fasten right catalytic converter to holders and clamps.		AR49.20-P-0102MNI
