	Remove
1	Remove left high-pressure line.		AR07.03-P-1001MNO
2	Remove left low-pressure line (2) with service connection.		AR07.03-P-1121MNO
3	Remove crash plate (3).
4	Remove soundproofing (4) at rail (10).
5	Remove bleed line (5) from cylinder head cover.
6	Release and disconnect electrical connector of cylinder 8 intake CAMTRONIC actuator (Y49/17).
7	Release and disconnect electrical connectors (8) for fuel injectors of cylinders 5, 6, and 8 (Y76/5, Y76/6, Y76/8).
8	Remove screws (9).	Remove screws (9) alternately, in each case, by half a turn. Start in center of rail (10) and work outwards. Rail (10) will otherwise be damaged.
9	Remove clips (11).
10	Remove rail (10) from fuel injectors of cylinders 5 to 8 (Y76/5, Y76/6, Y76/7, Y76/8) and seal connections with suitable stop plugs.	Record plug	Fig 2
11	Mark fuel injectors of cylinders 5 to 8 (Y76/5, Y76/6, Y76/7, Y76/8) relative to respective cylinder.	When reusing fuel injectors of cylinders 5 to 8 (Y76/5, Y76/6, Y76/7, Y76/8).
12	Remove fuel injectors of cylinders 5 to 8 (Y76/5, Y76/6, Y76/7, Y76/8) from cylinder head and seal injector well bores with suitable stop plugs.		AR07.03-P-0004-03MM

13	Check fuel injectors of cylinders 5 to 8 (Y76/5, Y76/6, Y76/7, Y76/8) for external damage.	When reusing fuel injectors of cylinders 5 to 8 (Y76/5, Y76/6, Y76/7, Y76/8). If damage is present, ↓ Replace respective affected fuel injector.
14	Check connection of fuel line at rail (10) for damage.	If connection on rail (10) is damaged: ↓ Replace rail (10).

16	Read off injector injection quantity adjustment coding on fuel injectors of cylinders 5 to 8 (Y76/5, Y76/6, Y76/7, Y76/8) and note down.	When replacing fuel injectors of cylinders 5 to 8 (Y76/5, Y76/6, Y76/7, Y76/8).
17	Clean fuel connections at fuel injectors of cylinders 5 to 8 (Y76/5, Y76/6, Y76/7, Y76/8).	For cleaning the fuel connections, hold downwards. Failure of the fuel injectors of cylinders 5 to 8 (Y76/5, Y76/6, Y76/7, Y76/8) will occur otherwise. Install fuel injectors of cylinders 5 to 8 (Y76/5, Y76/6, Y76/7, Y76/8) immediately after removing transport protective cap. Leaks can occur otherwise.

20	Assign fuel injectors of cylinders 5 to 8 (Y76/5, Y76/6, Y76/7, Y76/8) to corresponding cylinders and clean injector well bores.	When reusing fuel injectors of cylinders 5 to 8 (Y76/5, Y76/6, Y76/7, Y76/8).
		When reusing fuel injectors of cylinders 5 to 8 (Y76/5, Y76/6, Y76/7, Y76/8), insert them into cylinder in which they were installed previously. Engine damage can occur otherwise.
21	Install fuel injectors of cylinders 5 to 8 (Y76/5, Y76/6, Y76/7, Y76/8) on rail (10) and secure with clips (11).	Install clips (11).
22	Insert rail (10) with fuel injectors of cylinders 5 to 8 (Y76/5, Y76/6, Y76/7, Y76/8) in left cylinder head.
23	Tighten screws (9).	Screw in screws (9) alternately by, in each case, half a turn. Start in center of rail (10) and work outwards. Rail (10) will otherwise be damaged.

24.1	Connect electrical connector of left fuel pressure and temperature sensor (B42/2) and lock.	Where rail (10) is reused.
24.2	Install new left fuel pressure and temperature sensor (B42/2).	When replacing rail (10).

25	Connect electrical connectors (8) of fuel injectors of cylinders 5 to 8 (Y76/5, Y76/6, Y76/7, Y76/8) and lock.
26	Connect electrical connector of cylinder 5 intake CAMTRONIC actuator (Y49/15) and cylinder 8 intake CAMTRONIC actuator (Y49/17) and lock.
27	Install soundproofing (4) on rail (10).
28	Install left low-pressure line (2) with service connection.		AR07.03-P-1121MNO
