	Remove/install
1	Disconnect the ground line for the on-board electrical system battery (G1).		AR54.10-P-0003ME
2	Remove left air filter housing.		AR09.10-P-1151MNO
		: Only install upper engine cover after the leak test.
3	Remove noise insulation (7).
4	Remove fuel pressure via the service connection.		AR07.03-P-1460-01MNL

5	Remove noise insulation (3).
6	Release and disconnect electrical connector on left fuel pressure and temperature sensor (B42/2) and place to one side.
7	Release and disconnect electrical connector on cylinder 5 intake CAMTRONIC actuator (Y49/15) and place to one side.
8	Release and disconnect electrical connector on cylinder 7 fuel injector (Y76/7) and place to one side.
9	Remove cable duct (6) from left cylinder head cover.		AR15.18-P-1000-07MNL
		Bolt, engine wiring harness to cylinder head cover	*BA15.18-P-1001-01G
10	Remove filler neck for engine oil.		AR01.40-P-0004MNO
11	Remove screws from service connection.	Bolt, fuel line service connection to left cylinder head cover	*BA07.03-P-1002-01H
12	Remove holders of left low-pressure line (9) from left cylinder head cover and holder of coolant return line of exhaust gas turbochargers.	Bolt, fuel line clamp to engine/bracket	*BA07.03-P-1004-01H
13	Clean area around left low-pressure line (9).	Assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
14	Remove fuel supply line (5) from service connection and seal openings with suitable stop plugs.	Union nut, fuel hose to diagnostic socket/fuel line	*BA07.03-P-1006-01H

16	Remove left low-pressure line (9) from high-pressure fuel pump (4) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs.	Union nut, fuel line to fuel distributor/fuel system high-pressure pump	*BA07.03-P-1001-01H

17	Remove left low-pressure line (9).	After opening the clamp, replace hose with clamps. Leaks can occur otherwise. Commercially available devices/tools Clamping pliers

18	Check left low-pressure line (9) for damage.	If left low-pressure line (9) is reused.

		If damage is present, ↓ Replace left low-pressure line (9).
19	Remove holders from left low-pressure line (9).	When replacing left low-pressure line with service connection (9).
20	Install in the reverse order.
	Right low-pressure line (14)
21	Remove right air filter housing.		AR09.10-P-1152MNO
22	Remove noise insulation (1).
23	Remove noise insulation (15).
24	Remove bleed line (13) from right cylinder head cover.	: Replace seals of bleed line (13).
		Bolt, vent line to cylinder head cover/turbocharger	*BA01.20-P-1001-01J
25	Release and disconnect electrical connector on right fuel pressure and temperature sensor (B42/1) and place to one side.
26	Release and disconnect electrical connector on cylinder 3 intake CAMTRONIC actuator (Y49/13) and place to one side.
27	Release and disconnect electrical connector on cylinder 2 fuel injector (Y76/2) and place to one side.
28	Release and disconnect electrical connector on cylinder 3 fuel injector (Y76/3) and place to one side.
29	Remove holders of right low-pressure line (14) from right cylinder head cover.	Bolt, fuel line clamp to engine/bracket	*BA07.03-P-1004-01H
30	Clean area around right low-pressure line (14)	Assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
31	Remove right low-pressure line (14) from high-pressure fuel pump (2) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs.	Union nut, fuel line to fuel distributor/fuel system high-pressure pump	*BA07.03-P-1001-01H

33	Check right low-pressure line (14) for damage.	If right low-pressure line (14) is reused.

34	Remove holders from right low-pressure line (14).	When replacing right low-pressure line (14).
35	Install in the reverse order.
	Center low-pressure line (12)

38	Remove charge air hoses (11).	Bolt, clamp for charge air hose to charge-air distributor	*BA09.41-P-1002-01X
39	Remove left low-pressure line (9) and right low-pressure line (14) from center low-pressure line (12) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs.	Always replace hoses with clamps after opening the clamps. Leaks can occur otherwise. Commercially available devices/tools Clamping pliers

40	Remove center low-pressure line (12).	Bolt, fuel line clamp to engine/bracket	*BA07.03-P-1004-01H
41	Check center low-pressure line (12) for damage.	If center low-pressure line (12) is reused.
		Assembly cleaner If damage is present, ↓ Replace center low-pressure line (12).	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
42	Remove holders from center low-pressure line (12).	When replacing center low-pressure line (12).
43	Install in the reverse order.
	Check
	Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
	Risk of burn injuries , suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it.
