REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove front fixed element of panoramic sliding sunroof.   AR77.21-P-0803ME 
2 Remove rear fixed element of panoramic sliding sunroof.   AR77.21-P-0802ME 
3 Cover edges on the body and windshield in the working area and mask off. Adhesive fabric tape *BR00.45-Z-1062-02A 
    SPECIAL TOOL Set of shields Fig 1
4 Remove panoramic sliding sunroof roller sunblind drive unit (M12/5).   AR77.21-P-0493ME 
5 Remove panoramic sliding sunroof motor drive unit (A98m1).   AR77.21-P-1000ME 
6 Remove electrical wiring harness (1) of the panoramic sliding sunroof roller sunblind drive unit (M12/5) and the panoramic sliding sunroof motor drive unit (A98m1).    
7 Cut through the drive cables of the panoramic sliding sunroof roller sunblind drive unit (M12/5) and the panoramic sliding sunroof motor drive unit (A98m1) on the separation lines (A) with a suitable tool.    
8 Remove basic carrier (2) of the panoramic sliding sunroof roller sunblind drive unit (M12/5) and the panoramic sliding sunroof motor drive unit (A98m1).    
9 Remove mounting supports (3) of the left and right crossbar.    
10 Remove left and right overflow cable (4) from the panoramic sliding sunroof frame (5).    
WARNING Risk of injury  due to snapping or warming up of cutting wire and due to splinters when cutting out glued panoramic roofs Wear cut-proof gloves and safety glasses. AS77.21-Z-0002-01A 
WARNING Risk of injury  from cutting wire tearing or becoming hot and from splinters of glass when cutting out bonded windows Wear protective gloves and safety glasses. AS67.00-Z-0004-01A
11 Cut out panoramic sliding sunroof frame (5) and remove.   AR77.21-P-0801-01ME 
    IMPORTANT Helper required.

INSTALLING Install     
Notice  Notes on handling adhesive   AH67.00-P-1000-01A
12 Prepare body flange on panoramic sliding sunroof frame (5) for installation.   AR77.21-P-0801-03ME 
13 Remove sliding roof panel from the new panoramic sliding sunroof frame (5).   AR77.21-P-0500ME 
14 Prepare panoramic sliding sunroof frame (5) for installation.   AR77.21-P-0801-02ME 
    IMPORTANT Four helpers required.  
    Distance between top edge of window and front edge of roof *BE67.10-P-1001-02KOA 
    Adhesive fabric tape *BR00.45-Z-1062-02A 
    SPECIAL TOOL Feeler gauge Fig 3
15 Install trims on panoramic sliding sunroof frame (5).   AR77.21-P-6920ME 
WARNING Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling vapors or swallowing adhesive. Risk of injury  caused by adhesive coming into contact with skin and eyes Wear respiratory protection, protective gloves and safety glasses. Pour adhesive into suitable and appropriately marked containers only. AS00.00-Z-0016-01A
16 Apply adhesive material to the panoramic sliding sunroof frame (5).   AR77.21-P-0801-04ME 
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 00 72 00 Sealing and corrosion protection gun   WS97.00-P-0001B
    SPECIAL TOOL Adapter Fig 2
17 Install panoramic sliding sunroof frame (5).   AR77.21-P-0801-05ME 
    NOTES
Do not move vehicle for at least 10 h after gluing in the rear fixed element (1). The strength of the adhesively bonded connection is otherwise impaired and the required adhesion of the adhesive material is not ensured.
 
    IMPORTANT Five helpers required.  
18 Remove weights for weighting down panoramic sliding sunroof frame (5).    
19 Install sliding roof panel of the new panoramic sliding sunroof frame (5).   AR77.21-P-0500ME 
20 Install mounting supports (3) of the left and right crossbar.    
21 Install electrical wiring harness (1) of the panoramic sliding sunroof roller sunblind drive unit (M12/5) and panoramic sliding sunroof motor drive unit (A98m1). If the electrical wiring harness (1) is reused.  
    NOTES
Ensure that the electrical wiring harness (1) is routed and padded correctly.
To prevent noise development during vehicle operation.
 
22 Install panoramic sliding sunroof motor drive unit (A98m1). If the panoramic sliding sunroof motor drive unit (A98m1) is reused.  
      AR77.21-P-1000ME 
23 Install panoramic sliding sunroof drive unit roller sunblind (M12/5). If the panoramic sliding sunroof roller sunblind drive unit (M12/5) is reused.  
      AR77.21-P-0493ME 
24 Install rear fixed element of panoramic sliding sunroof.   AR77.21-P-0802ME 
25 Install front fixed element of panoramic sliding sunroof.   AR77.21-P-0803ME 
INSPECT Check     
26 Check strength of adhesively bonded connection by means of the produced reference adhesive bead. NOTES
Do not move vehicle for at least 10 h after gluing in the panoramic sliding sunroof frame (5).
The strength of the adhesively bonded connection is otherwise impaired and the required adhesion of the adhesive material is not ensured.
 
CLEAN Clean     
27 Remove fabric tape and clean working area. Assembly cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
    Adhesive fabric tape *BR00.45-Z-1062-02A 
  Finishing activity     
28 Normalize panoramic sliding sunroof using vehicle diagnosis system and perform teach-in run for automatic reversing function.
