	Notes on threaded connections fastened using a tightening angle-based tightening process		AH00.00-P-0020-01A
	Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts		AH00.00-N-0001-01A

	Remove/install
1	Remove left or right front wheel.		AR40.10-P-1102XG
2	Remove front engine compartment lining and center engine compartment lining.		AR61.20-P-1105XG
3	Mark installation position of lower transverse control arm (1) at bearing points.
4	Remove screw (2) and detach bracket (3) from lower transverse control arm (1).
5	Secure lower control arm (1) to prevent it from falling down.
6	Unscrew nut (4) from torsion bar linkage.	Nut, torsion bar linkage on front axle to torsion bar/transverse control arm at bottom	*BA32.35-P-1006-01A
7	Unscrew nut (5), remove screw (6) with washer and detach suspension strut from lower transverse control arm (1).	Bolt, suspension strut to suspension strut step bearing	*BA32.25-P-1005-04R
8	Unscrew nut-and-washer assembly (12) from steering knuckle.	Nut, lower transverse control arm to steering knuckle	*BA33.15-P-1008-01A
9	Release supporting joint (13) of lower control arm (1) from steering knuckle.	Take particular care when using the special tool to release the ball stud! Replace any components hit by incorrectly performed hammer blows.

10	Remove screws (8) from bearing bracket (7) and remove together with adjusting shims (9).	Note version, location and installation position of adjusting shims (9). If this is not observed, wheel alignment measurement must be performed.
		: The notch (arrow) on the adjusting shim (9) points to the outside of the vehicle.
		Bolt, bearing bracket for transverse control arm at bottom to frame	*BA33.15-P-1010-01A
11	Unscrew nut (10) and remove screw (11) together with adjusting shims.	Note version, location and installation position of adjusting shims (9). If this is not observed, wheel alignment measurement must be performed.
		: The notch (arrow) on the adjusting shim (9) points to the outside of the vehicle.
		Screw/bolt, lower transverse control arm to frame	*BA33.15-P-1009-01A
12	Remove lower control arm (1).
	Check
13	Check lower transverse control arm (1) for damage.	If damage is found, ↓ Replace lower transverse control arm (1).
14	Check supporting joint (13) on lower transverse control arm (1) for wear and damage.	If there are signs of wear or damage, ↓ Replace lower transverse control arm (1).
15	Check rear elastomer bearing (14) on bearing bracket (7) for wear and damage.	If there are signs of wear or damage, ↓ Replace lower transverse control arm (1).
16	Check front elastomer bearing (15) on lower transverse control arm (1) for wear and damage.	If there are signs of wear or damage, ↓ Replace front elastomer bearing (15).	AR33.20-P-0410XG
17	Check shock absorber mount (16) on lower transverse control arm (1) for wear and damage.	If there are signs of wear or damage, ↓ Replace shock absorber mount (16).	AR32.25-P-0111XG
18	Install in reverse order.
	Check
19	Check vehicle level and adjust if necessary.	When replacing the lower transverse control arm (1) and if the original version, location and installation position of the adjusting shims (9) are not assured.	AR40.20-P-0200XG
