as of model year 2019
| Notes on repair work on suspension components | AH00.00-P-0100-01A | ||
| Remove | |||
| 1 | Remove lower transverse control arm (1) of front axle at left or right. | AR33.20-P-0510XG | |
| 2 | Clamp lower transverse control arm (1) in a vise. | Use soft vise jaws. Otherwise the lower transverse control arm (1) will be damaged. |
|
| 3 | Screw spindle (01) onto thrust piece (02) and position on front elastomer bearing (15). | Fig 2 | |
| 4 | Fit sleeve (25) on opposite side of lower transverse control arm (1). | ||
| Fig 3 | |||
| 5 | Screw sleeve (25), hollow-piston cylinder (30) and nut (03) onto spindle (01). | Fig 2 | |
| Fig 3 | |||
| Fig 4 | |||
| 6 | Connect hydraulic hose (40) together with hand pump to hollow-piston cylinder (30) and press out elastomer bearing (15). | Make sure that the special tools are correctly positioned and move correctly. Otherwise the lower transverse control arm (1) will be damaged by pressure marks or due to tilting. |

| Clean | |||
| 8 | Clean press-in surface of front elastomer bearing (15) on lower transverse control arm (1) and remove any existing residues. | ||
| Check | |||
| 9 | Check condition of lower transverse control arm (1). | If there is damage, such as score marks or cracks, on the press-in surface in particular, ↓ Replace lower transverse control arm (1). |
|
| Install | |||
| 10 | Coat lip (arrow B) on front elastomer bearing (15) and press-in surface on lower transverse control arm (1) with lubricant. | Replace front elastomer bearing (15). Otherwise, correct installation may not be possible. It must be ensured that the lip (arrow B) is sufficiently coated with lubricant for the entire duration of the pressing-in process. Otherwise the lip (arrow B) breaks off the elastomer bearing (15). Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 l |

| 11 | Position lip (arrow B) of front elastomer bearing (15) on lower transverse control arm (1). | Make sure that the front elastomer bearing (15) is positioned and installed correctly. Otherwise the front elastomer bearing (15) or the lower transverse control arm (1) will be damaged by the incorrect pressing-in operation. |
|
| 12 | screw spindle (01) onto thrust piece (04) and fit on front elastomer bearing (15). | Fig 2 | |
| 13 | Screw sleeve (05) together with hollow-piston cylinder (30), hydraulic hose (40), hand pump and nut (03) onto spindle (01) from the opposite side. | Fig 2 | |

| 14 | Press front elastomer bearing (15) into lower transverse control arm (1) up to end stop. | Make sure that the special tools and the front elastomer bearing (15) are correctly positioned and move correctly. Otherwise the lower transverse control arm (1) or the front elastomer bearing (15) will be damaged by pressure marks or due to tilting. |

| 16 | Unclamp lower transverse control arm (1). | ||
| 17 | Check condition and correct seating of front elastomer bearing (15), in particular the lip (arrow B). | ||
| 18 | Remove any existing residues of lubricant or fouling. | ||
| 19 | Install lower transverse control arm (1) of front axle at left or right. | AR33.20-P-0510XG |
