Multicontour seat, general
The contour and the surface hardness of the backrest and the seat cushion of the front seats (with code (PA1) Seating comfort package) and the rear seats (with code (S52) Individual seats behind driver seat/front passenger seat) can be individually adjusted. This is done by air cushions that can be inflated independently of each other. The air cushions are installed in the following areas:
- Lower lumbar area
- Upper lumbar area
- In the side bolsters of the backrest
- Front area of seat cushion (seat cushion length)
Function sequence for multicontour seat
The adjustment of the contour and surface hardness of the backrest and the seat cushion is performed by inflating and deflating the respective air cushions. By switching on circuit 15R or circuit 15, the multicontour seat pneumatic pump is supplied with power via the circuit 30g relay on the battery compartment prefuse box. The multicontour seat pneumatic pump ensures the compressed air supply for inflating the individual air cushions. The inflating and deflating of the air cushions is performed by turning the regulation valves that are arranged on the multicontour seat regulation valve block on the side at the seat cushion. If the maximum pressure is reached in the air cushion when inflating, the multicontour seat pneumatic pump switches itself off.
