Speaker Output Function - GF82.62-P-4212GWN
Model 463 (except 463.342)
as of model year 2019
with code EU8 (Burmester® surround sound system)
Function requirements for speaker output, general
- Circuit 30t ON
- Transport mode not active
Speaker output, general
A distinction is made between the following procedures:
- Speaker output
- Speaker actuation in the event of voice output
This document does not describe speaker actuation with telematics services with a voice connection (e.g. emergency call).
Speaker output
The audio signals are routed by the head unit or the TV tuner control unit (with code EM8 (TV tuner)) over the Media Oriented System Transport to the sound system amplifier control unit, where they are amplified and emitted over direct lines at the following speakers:
- Left front door midrange speaker
- Right front door midrange speaker
- Left rear door midrange speaker
- Right rear door midrange speaker
- Left instrument panel tweeter
- Right instrument panel tweeter
- Left rear door tweeter
- Right rear door tweeter
- Left rear subwoofer
- Left rear surround sound system midrange speaker
- Right rear surround sound system midrange speaker
- Left front door woofer
- Right front door woofer
- Left front center overhead control panel midrange speaker (3D sound)
- Right front center overhead control panel midrange speaker (3D sound)
During actuation of the speaker system, the volume is adapted to the noise level in the vehicle interior. To this end, the head unit transmits the speed signal and the signals of the driver hands-free system microphone and the front passenger hands-free system microphone (interference recording) over the Media Oriented Systems Transport to the sound system amplifier control unit.
Model 463 (except 463.342)
as of model year 2019
with code EK1 (Communications module (LTE) for the use of Mercedes)
with code EM2 (Communications module (UMTS) for the use of Merced)
with code EU8 (Burmester® surround sound system)
The instrument cluster speaker (H4/61) on telematics services with voice connection (e.g. emergency call) are used for voice output and actuated over direct lines by the HERMES control unit (N112/9).
Speaker actuation in the event of voice output
For voice output (except code EK1 (HERMES - LTE communication module) and except code EM2 (HERMES - UMTS communication module)) the following speakers are actuated:
- Left front door midrange speaker
- Right front door midrange speaker
- Left instrument panel tweeter
- Right instrument panel tweeter
- Left front door woofer
- Right front door woofer
- Left front center overhead control panel midrange speaker (3D sound)
- Right front center overhead control panel midrange speaker (3D sound)
