Remove/Install Front Upper Control Arm - AR33.20-P-0500LWO

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1.1 Remove cover (6) on left side When removing left upper transverse control arm (2).  
1.2 Remove cover (6) on right side When removing right upper transverse control arm (2).  
2.1 Remove on-board electrical system battery for 12V on-board electrical system When removing right upper transverse control arm (2).
Model 238 with code U98 (LITHIUM-ION STARTER BATTERY (LISB)) except code B01 (48V technology)

2.2 Remove on-board electrical system battery for 48V on-board electrical system When removing right upper transverse control arm (2).

3.1 Unclip coolant reservoir (8) When removing right upper transverse control arm (2).  
3.2 Unscrew nuts (7) and place engine fuse and relay module (K40/8) with connected lines to one side When removing left upper transverse control arm (2).  
4 Remove front wheel   AR40.10-P-1102A
5 Secure steering knuckle (3) against falling down    
6 Unscrew nut (4) NOTES
Counterhold the ball head and do not use an impact wrench/driver.
Otherwise the ball head or steering knuckle (3) may be damaged.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, steering knuckle to transverse control arm
*BA33.20-P-1006-01U 
7 Detach upper transverse control arm (2) from steering knuckle (3)    
8 Remove front suspension strut Model 238 with code 489 (AIR BODY CONTROL) AR32.25-P-1017LWQ
9 Remove front level sensor retaining clamp (1) from upper transverse control arm (2) If installed.
IMPORTANT Pay attention to installation position.
 
10 Counterhold bolts (10) and unscrew nuts (9) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, transverse control arm to body *BA33.20-P-1005-01U 
11 Unscrew bolts (10) and remove upper transverse control arm (2)    
INSPECT Check     
12 Check elastomer bearing on upper transverse control arm (2) for wear and damage Evaluation of elastomer bearings If a problem arises

Replace upper transverse control arm (2).

13 Check upper ball joint on upper transverse control arm (2) for wear and damage If a problem arises

Replace upper transverse control arm (2).
 
14 Check upper transverse control arm (2) for damage If a problem arises

Replace upper transverse control arm (2).
 
15 Install in the reverse order
