Remove/Install Air Suspension Valve Unit - AR32.22-P-2015LWO

With Code 489 (AIR BODY CONTROL)

  Notes on AIR BODY CONTROL   AH32.22-P-1000-03LWO 
INSTALLING Remove     
1 Release pressure from air suspension using diagnostic system    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-06LWO
2 Remove left front engine compartment lining   AR61.20-P-1105LWE
3 Loosen left front fender liner in area of bumper and push to one side   AR88.10-P-1300LWE
4 Release and disconnect electrical connection (2)    
5 Mark positions of pressure line connections (3) relative to valve unit (6)    
6 Remove pressure line connections (3) at valve unit (6) and close off openings using suitable stop plugs SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 2
7 Remove bolts (4) and remove valve unit (6) downwards    
INSPECT Check     
8 Check elastomer bearings (5) for hardening and damage If there are problems

Replace corresponding elastomer bearings (5).
 
INSTALLING Install     
9 Position valve unit (6) and tighten bolts (4) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, valve unit to bracket for compressor unit *BA32.22-P-1003-03H 
10 Remove all stop plugs    
11 Attach pressure line connections (3) to valve unit (6) NOTES
The threads of pressure line connections (3) must not be damaged.
Otherwise leaks can occur.
IMPORTANT Pay attention to marking.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Pressure line to compressor/valve unit (P)

    SPECIAL TOOL Torque tool set Fig 4
    SPECIAL TOOL Torque wrench
If the threads are damaged

Repair pressure line connections (3).

12 Connect and lock electrical connector (2)    
13 Build up pressure of air suspension using vehicle diagnosis system    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-06LWO
INSPECT Check     
14 Read out and erase fault memory using the diagnostic system    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-06LWO
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
15 Perform an engine test run and check air suspension for proper operation    
16 Check valve unit (6) for leaktightness   AR32.22-P-8101LWO 
INSTALLING Install     
17 Attach left front fender liner   AR88.10-P-1300LWE
18 Install left front engine compartment lining   AR61.20-P-1105LWE
