	Remove/install
1	Disconnect battery ground line		AR54.10-P-0003LW
2	Remove bracket for engine management control unit	Only install upper engine cover after the leak test.	AR07.08-P-7016MNE
3	Remove soundproofing (1)
4	Unclip electrical line at high-pressure line (4)
5	Remove brackets (7)	The brackets (7) must be aligned before being bolted on. Ensure the high-pressure line (4) is routed correctly.

6	Remove engine suspension lug at rear right		AR01.20-P-5012-02MNE
		Bolt, heat shield/rear lifting eye to cylinder head	*BA01.30-P-1003-01N

7	Remove ground line (5) from cylinder head cover	Bolt, engine wiring harness ground to cylinder head cover	*BA15.10-P-1003-05F
8	Clean area around high-pressure line (4)	Thoroughly clean area around high-pressure line (4) at the locations to be separated. Failure can occur otherwise to the fuel system.
		Assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
9	Pull low-temperature circuit expansion reservoir upward out of elastomer bearings and place to one side with coolant lines connected		AR09.41-P-0001MNE
10	Relieve fuel pressure over diagnostic socket		AR07.03-P-1460-01MNE
		Dust protection cap to service connection	*BA07.03-P-1005-01H

11	Relieve fuel pressure in fuel system high-pressure circuit		AR07.03-P-1460-02MM
12	Remove high-pressure line (4) and close off openings at high-pressure line (4), fuel system high-pressure pump (8) and the rail (6) with suitable stop plugs	Do not kink or bend high-pressure line (4). Otherwise leaks and damage can occur.

15	Check fuel high-pressure circuit

	Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
16	Perform an engine test run and check engine for proper operation and leak tightness
17	Install upper engine cover		AR01.10-P-2405MNE
