	Remove
1	Remove driver's airbag from steering wheel.	Model 213, 238 with code L5C (Supersport steering wheel - leather deep-embossed)	AR91.60-P-0660LW
		Model 257 with code L5C (Supersport steering wheel - leather deep-embossed)	AR91.60-P-0660FR
2	Remove bolts (1).
3	Remove mounting plate (2), and release and disconnect electrical connector (3).
4	Remove washers of screws (1).	If washers are installed.
5	Release and disconnect electrical connector at steering column tube module control unit (N80).
6	Remove screws (4) and unclip cover (5).
7	Unscrew screws (6) and remove lower cover (7).
8	Unscrew screws (8), release and disconnect electrical connectors of steering wheel electronics (N135), and remove steering wheel electronics (N135).	Do not crush or kink or subject electric lines to tension. This will result in damage to the electric lines and can impair their function. If lower washers are installed, observe installation position of lower washers.
9	Unclip hand detection system control unit (N179) from steering wheel electronics (N135), release and disconnect electrical connectors.	Model 213, 238, 257 with code 266 (DISTRONIC PLUS with Cross-Traffic Assist (DTR+Q)) with code L5C (Supersport steering wheel - leather deep-embossed) Do not crush or kink or subject electric lines to tension. This will result in damage to the electric lines and can impair their function.
	Install
10	Connect and lock electrical connectors, and install hand detection system control unit (N179) in steering wheel electronics (N135).	Model 213, 238, 257 with code 266 (DISTRONIC PLUS with Cross-Traffic Assist (DTR+Q)) with code L5C (Supersport steering wheel - leather deep-embossed) Do not crush or kink or subject electric lines to tension. This will result in damage to the electric lines and can impair their function. Ensure that the electrical connectors are engaged correctly.
11	Connect and lock electrical connectors of steering wheel electronics (N135), install steering wheel electronics (N135), and screw in screws (8).	Do not crush or kink or subject electric lines to tension. This will result in damage to the electric lines and can impair their function. Ensure that the electrical connectors are engaged correctly. Ensure that routing of lines is correct. If lower washers are installed, observe installation position of lower washers. Screw, front cover to steering wheel	*BA46.10-P-1004-02J
12	Install lower cover (7) and screw in screws (6).	Screw, front cover to steering wheel	*BA46.10-P-1004-02J
13	Install cover (5) and screw in screws (4).	Screw, front cover to steering wheel	*BA46.10-P-1004-02J
14	Connect and lock electrical connectors from steering column tube module control unit (N80).	Ensure correct engagement of electrical connector.
15	Check line routing of electrical wiring harness in steering wheel.		AR82.90-P-0101-01FRD
16	Install washers of screws (1).	If washers are installed.
17	Install mounting plate (2), connect electrical connector (3).	Make sure that the electrical connector (3) engages correctly.
18	Screw in screws/bolts (1).	Screw, mounting plate/contact plate to steering wheel	*BA46.10-P-1002-02J
19	Install driver's airbag at steering wheel.	Model 213, 238 with code L5C (Supersport steering wheel - leather deep-embossed)	AR91.60-P-0660LW
		Model 257 with code L5C (Supersport steering wheel - leather deep-embossed)	AR91.60-P-0660FR
20	Connect vehicle diagnosis system and perform commissioning.	When replacing steering wheel electronics (N135).
