	Remove/install
1	Remove left or right rear axle spring	Model 205.386/387/486/487 except code 489 (AIRMATIC Dual Control/semi-active air suspension)	AR32.20-P-0230LW
2	Remove left or right rear axle brake caliper and hang to one side with brake hose connected		AR42.10-P-0080LW
3	Remove lower guide pin of rear axle brake caliper from brake caliper support
4	Unscrew nut (2) and pull bolt of shock absorber (3) out of spring control arm (1)	Self-locking nut, shock absorber to spring control arm	*BA32.25-P-1001-03P
5	Unscrew nut and pull bolt (5) out of spring control arm (1)	: Replace adjusting plate (8). Make sure that the adjusting plate (8) is seated correctly and in the correct installation position. The screwdriver bit is to be used when a bolt (5) with multi-point socket profile is installed.

6	Unscrew nut and pull bolt (4) out of spring control arm (1)	The screwdriver bit is to be used when a bolt (4) with multi-point socket profile is installed.

7	Remove spring control arm (1) from wheel carrier (6) and from rear axle carrier (7)	Model 205.386/387/486/487 with code 489 (AIRMATIC Dual Control/semi-active air suspension) Installation:  Observe installation position of lower centering mark for air spring in spring link (1).
	Check
8	Check that elastomer bearing (9) in rear axle carrier (7) is in good condition and undamaged	If there are problems ↓ Replace elastomer bearing (9).	AR35.20-P-3405LWI
9	Check that elastomer bearing (10) in rear axle carrier (6) is in good condition and undamaged	If there are problems ↓ Replace elastomer bearing (10).	AR35.20-P-3401LWI
10	Install in the reverse order
