Theft protection and locking, general
The theft protection and locking function description comprises the following functions described in separate documents:
- Central locking (CL [ZV])
- Digital key in smartphone, function (with code 896 (Vehicle access and drive authorization via mobile phone))
- Trunk lid control (model 222 with code 881 (Remote trunk closing), model 217)
- KEYLESS-GO
- Drive authorization system stage 4 (DAS 4)
- Convenience feature (CF)
- Anti-theft alarm system (ATA) (with CODE 551 (Anti-theft alarm system (ATA)))
Central locking (CL [ZV])
The CL [ZV] electrically locks and unlocks the vehicle doors, the trunk lid and the tank cap.
Digital key in smartphone, function (with code 896 (Vehicle access and drive authorization via mobile phone))
The CL can be operated with the mobile phone and the vehicle started. The mobile phone is a replacement for the transmitter key (A8/1).
Trunk lid control (model 222 with code 881 (Remote trunk closing), model 217)
The trunk lid control actuates automatic opening and closing of the trunk lid from inside and outside
KEYLESS-GO
KEYLESS-GO allows for access to the vehicle (with code 889 (KEYLESS-GO)) and the starting of the engine without having to use the transmitter key. It is sufficient to just carry the transmitter key.

Operation of the central locking and starting the engine via the transmitter key remain possible in parallel to the KEYLESS-GO functions.
Drive authorization system stage 4 (DAS 4)
DAS 4 allows the ignition to be switched on and the engine to be started. DAS 4 is a compound system consisting of control units, each of which calculate and compare the drive authorization code independently. If the check in question is valid, each component is released automatically.
Convenience feature (CF)
The convenience feature allows for a central opening and closing of the side windows and the panoramic sliding sunroof (with code 413 (Panoramic sliding sunroof)) via the transmitter key or the air-recirculation mode button (N58/1s4) on the climate control operating unit (N58/1).
Anti-theft alarm system (ATA) (with CODE 551 (Anti-theft alarm system (ATA)))
The ATA [EDW] monitors all relevant inputs after locking the vehicle. If a change of status is detected at one of the monitored inputs, an acoustic and visual alarm is output.
When the transport mode is activated, the following functions are permitted by the energy management:
- Unlocking passenger door, rear doors (model 222 and trunk lid with CL
- Trunk lid control (model 222 with code 881 (Remote trunk closing), model 217.3)
- Opening panoramic sliding sunroof (with code (413) Panoramic sliding sunroof)
