Remove/Install Pedestrian Protection Sensor/Crash Sensor - AR91.60-P-0950MFA

Model 118, 177, 243, 247 

with code U60 (Pedestrian protection - Active hood)

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove front bumper and place onto suitable base. Model 118, 177, 247 with code U60 (Pedestrian protection - Active hood) AR88.20-P-2000MFA
    Model 243 with code U60 (Pedestrian protection - Active hood) AR88.20-P-2000EQA
2 Release and disconnect electrical connector (3) from front left bumper pedestrian protection sensor (B151/1) and from front right bumper pedestrian protection sensor (B151/3).    
3 Remove impact absorber (2) from vehicle and place onto suitable base.    
4 Remove front left bumper pedestrian protection sensor (B151/1) and front right bumper pedestrian protection sensor (B151/3) together with hose (1) from impact absorber (2). INSTALLATION NOTES : Route the hose (1) without any tension and kinking.
Malfunctions can occur otherwise.
 
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Check hose (1) is correctly seated in impact absorber (2). Make sure that the hose (1) is positioned as deeply as possible groove of the impact absorber (2).  
    IMPORTANT Do not detach the hose (1) from the front left bumper pedestrian protection sensor (B151/1) or front right bumper pedestrian protection sensor (B151/3).  
INSPECT Check     
5 Check front left bumper pedestrian protection sensor (B151/1) and front right bumper pedestrian protection sensor (B151/3) with hose (1) for any damage. If there is a problem,

replace front left bumper pedestrian protection sensor (B151/1) and front right bumper pedestrian protection sensor (B151/3) with hose (1).
 
6 Check impact absorber (2) for damage. If there is a problem,

Replace impact absorber (2).
 
7 Install in the reverse order.
