	Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

	Remove/install
1	Remove respective brake disk (11) from rear axle.		AR42.10-D-0240TS
2	Remove rear brake cable (8).	Except code B25 (Electric parking brake) Do not remove brake cable (8) from brake compensator lever and crossmember.	AR42.20-D-0525TS
3	Remove left rear rpm sensor (L6/3) or right rear rpm sensor (L6/4).		AR42.40-D-9807TS
4	Remove bolts (1).	Replace screw/bolts (1). Bolt, rear axle shaft to axle tube flange	*BA35.20-N-1005-06C
5	Remove rear axle shaft (5) from rear axle tube (2).	Observe installation position of the oil deflector (18). The water drain channel (arrow) must face downwards. Otherwise the oil cannot drain off. If installation position of oil deflector (18) is incorrect, ↓ Rectify the installation position.
6	Remove brake cover plate (20).	Check brake cover plate (20) for condition and damage. If there is a problem with the brake cover plate (20), ↓ replace brake cover plate (20).
	Clean
7	Clean faces on rear axle shaft (5) and rear axle tube (2).	The faces on the rear axle shaft (5) and rear axle tube (2) must be dry and free of corrosion and grease. Otherwise damage will occur. Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray	*BR00.45-Z-1046-04A
8	Install in the reverse order.
	Check
9	Check brake system for proper operation.
	Brake test		AP42.00-D-4290TS
10	Check oil level in rear axle differential.
	Rear axle - oil change	If oil level is incorrect, ↓ Correct oil level.	AP35.00-D-3501TSR
11	Check rear axle for leak tightness.
