	Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

	Remove/install
1	Raise vehicle.		AR00.60-D-1000-04TS
	Special instructions for lifting and supporting vehicle		AH00.60-N-0100-01TS
2	Remove underfloor panels.	Model 907 with code XM1 (Noise abatement measures)	AR61.30-D-1001TS
3	Remove cap (2).	The cover (2) is bolted on with 16 screws. Ensure that guides (2.1) are installed correctly on crash box (1).

4	Remove mounting plate (3).	The mounting plate (3) is bolted on with 4 screws. Model 907 with code A4M (4MATIC) with code G43 (9G-TRONIC) except code G42 (7G-TRONIC PLUS) Screw, mounting plate to crash box	*BA41.10-N-1009-01TS
5	Remove propeller shaft (4).		AR41.10-D-0050TS
6	Unclip electrical connector (5) from crash box (1).	Do not disconnect electrical connector (5).
7	Remove bolts (6).	Model 907 with code A4M (4MATIC) with code G43 (9G-TRONIC) except code G42 (7G-TRONIC PLUS) Screw, crash box to underbody	*BA41.10-N-1010-01TS
8	Release spring washers of heat shields (7) until side holder of crash box (1) can be guided out after loosening crash box (1).	Removal: Do not remove electrical wiring harnesses from heat shields (7).
9	Remove crash box (1) with aid of a helper.	The crash box (1) is bolted to the underbody using 6 screws.

10	Install in the reverse order.
