Modification notes 

We would like to notify you of the following situation regarding the subject of retrofits and modifications:

If the equipment of a vehicle is changed at a later stage or the vehicle is modified significantly, this must be documented accordingly in the vehicle documentation system (VeDoc).

The following must also be documented in VeDoc, e.g.:

• Subsequently installed codes for special equipment
• Software-based retrofits
• Installation of accessory parts
• Documentation of the serial numbers of retrofitted component parts

In the case of third-party retrofits, it is essential to observe Service Information SI00.00-D-0025DJ. 

In addition, the body manufacturer must document all installed and modified parts in the service booklet and confirm by means of stamp and signature (see ABH information edition 06/2018 and Service Information SI00.00-D-0123DJ ).

In warranty or goodwill cases where a retrofit or modification cannot be traced back through the vehicle documentation system (VeDoc), the claim may end up being rejected.
