Location
The lumbar support adjustment control unit is attached centrally at the corresponding seat backrest frame behind the backrest trim.
Task
The lumbar support adjustment control unit has the following tasks:
- Control of the air cushion pressure in the lumbar support of the respective seat
- Storage of last adjusted lumbar support contour
- Control of the driver seat lumbar support pneumatic pump (M25/4) or front passenger seat lumbar support pneumatic pump (M25/5)
The tasks are subdivided as follows:
- Read in sensors and signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Actuation of components
Read in sensors and signals
The respective lumbar support adjustment control unit reads in the following signals via the driver seat LIN (LIN B18) or front passenger seat LIN (LIN B19):
- "Deflate" control signal
- "Inflate" control signal
- Call up memory position request
Evaluation of input factors
The read-in input factors are evaluated by the lumbar support adjustment control unit.
Actuation of components
The driver seat lumbar support adjustment control unit actuates the driver seat lumbar support pneumatic pump directly.
The front passenger seat lumbar support adjustment control unit actuates the front passenger seat lumbar support pneumatic pump directly.
Structure
Located in the lumbar support adjustment control unit housing along with the microprocessor is also a pressure sensor. This sensor is used for detecting and monitoring the pressure. The air pressure in the air cushions in the seat is adjusted by means of valves in the lumbar support adjustment control unit.
