Remove/Install Front Seat Head Restraint Motor - AR91.29-P-1432LFA

Model 222 

with code 439 (Intelligent/folding front comfort head restraint) 

Angle adjustment and fold function motor

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove head restraint (1) on driver or front passenger seat   AR91.16-P-0040LFA 
2 Remove left rear display (A40/5) or right rear display (A40/6) MODEL 222 with CODE P46 (Individual entertainment in rear)  
      AR82.60-P-7720LF
3 Remove seat-back lining (3) on driver or front passenger seat backrest   AR91.10-P-1910LF 
4 Unclip and remove cover (2) On vehicles with CODE P07 (Chauffeur package) and work on front passenger seat.  
5 Remove bolts (5)    
6 Unclip and remove cover (6) MODEL 222 with CODE P46 (Individual entertainment in rear)  
7.1 Remove screws/bolts (7) located behind cover (6) MODEL 222 with CODE P46 (Individual entertainment in rear)  
7.2 Carefully push backrest cover (4) backwards, as shown in picture A, with an assembly wedge (11), then push backrest cover (4) downwards and remove screws/bolts (7) MODEL 222 without CODE P46 (Individual entertainment in rear)
NOTES Do not overstretch backrest cover (4).
Otherwise the backrest cover (4) may rip.
 
    SPECIAL TOOL Mounting wedge Fig 2
8 Disconnect electrical connectors (9) and detach wiring harnesses from angle and folding module (10)    
9 Remove screws/bolts (8)    
10 Remove angle and folding module (10) with driver seat head restraint inclination motor (M79/1) or front passenger seat head restraint inclination motor (M79/2)    
11 Install in the reverse order    
12 Connect XENTRY and perform seat normalization on front passenger seat or on driver seat    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS   IMPORTANT
  • Select control unit "'driver' ESE - 'driver' electrical seat adjustment with memory function (N32/1)" or control unit "'front passenger' ESE - 'front passenger' electrical seat adjustment with memory function (N32/2)"
  • Select "Adaptations" tab
  • Select "Teach-in processes" menu item
