	Remove/install
1	Remove center and front bottom engine compartment lining.		AR61.20-P-1105LF
		: Install center and front engine compartment lining only after leak test has been performed.
2	Check basic position of camshafts.		AR05.20-P-6010MNL
		: Do not install upper engine cover until after the leak test.
3	Position engine at center bolt of crankshaft to a 53° after ignition TDC of cylinder 1.		AR01.10-P-1000-01SZ
		Only turn engine at the center bolt of the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation using the specified box wrench. Otherwise, damage to the engine or even failure of the engine may occur.

4	Continue to turn the engine on the center bolt of the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation until the pointer of the measuring tool (9) points to the rib (16).	Only turn engine at the center bolt of the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation using the specified box wrench. Otherwise, damage to the engine or even failure of the engine may occur. The rib (16) corresponds to a crank angle of 235° after 1st cylinder ignition TDC.

		Measuring tool If the crankshaft was turned too far, ↓ Continue turning engine at center bolt of crankshaft just two revolutions in direction of engine rotation until pointer of measuring tool (9) points to rib (16).	Fig 3
5	Remove the alternator.		AR15.40-P-5032MNL
6	Unscrew bolts (4) and remove bracket (3)	Screw, alternator bracket to crankcase/oil pan	*BA15.40-P-1004-01T
7	Remove primary chain tensioner (2).	Only turn the crankshaft when the primary chain tensioner (2) is installed. Otherwise, the timing chain skips. : Install new sealing ring of primary chain tensioner (2).

8	Install in the reverse order.

9	Check engine oil level and correct if necessary.

	Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. 10	Perform engine test run; in this connection, check engine for proper operation and leak tightness.
