	Remove/install
1	Open hood.	Vehicles with remote start function.
2	Raise vehicle.		AR00.60-P-1000LF
3.1	Remove screws (3, 4) and remove center engine compartment lining (1).	Model 217 Model 222 except code 481 (Sump shield)
3.2	Unscrew screws (3, 4) and remove underride guard plate (9).	Model 222 with code 481 (Sump shield) Aid of helper required.
		Screw/bolt, underride guard	*BA61.40-P-1001-01D
4	Remove front fire-extinguishing system temperature sensor (10) from the front engine compartment lining (2) and secure on underbody with a wire or cable tie.	Model 222 with code Z21 (Fire extinguishing system) When removing front engine compartment paneling (2).
		Route electrical wiring harness to the front fire-extinguishing system temperature sensor (10) unstressed and without pinching or chafe marks. Otherwise a malfunction of the fire extinguishing system may occur.
5	Remove screws (5) and remove front engine compartment lining (2).
6	Remove side engine compartment linings (11).	Model 217, 222 as of model year 2018 Model 222.173 as of model year 2018 with code B53 (Acoustic ambient protection) Release funnel (12) from the right side engine compartment lining (11).
7.1	Remove screws (7, 8) and remove rear engine compartment lining (6).	If screws (8) are present.
7.2	Remove screws (7) and remove rear engine compartment lining (6).	If screws (8) are not present.
8	Install in the reverse order.
