	Remove/install
1	Remove rear door lining		AR72.12-P-1010LF
2	Unclip window frame trim (2)	Model 222.0/1 with code 297 (Electric roller sun blind in left and right rear door) except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) : Moisten side window seal in assembly area of window frame trim (2) with lubricant. Ensure that window frame trim (2) is seated correctly.

3	Remove roller sun blind (3)	Model 222.0/1 with code 297 (Electric roller sun blind in left and right rear door) except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)
4	Remove locking bar cover (4) from inner door panel	Model 222.0/1 except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)
5	Unhook locking bar (5) from door lock and remove with locking bar cover (4)	Model 222.0/1 except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)
6	Remove rubber grommet (6) from door module (1)	Model 222.0/1/9 except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)
		Model 222.9 except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) Additionally remove rubber grommet (6).
7	Close crank window (8) via driver side power window and outside mirror adjustment switch group until bolt (7) is accessible through assembly opening in door module (1)	Model 222.9 except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) Side window (8) is fastened with two bolts (7).
8	Remove screw/bolt (7)	Model 222.9 except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) Two bolts (7) are present.

9	Detach side window (8) from power window, completely push upward and secure against falling down with suitable adhesive tape (9)
10	Disconnect battery ground line		AR54.10-P-0003LF
11	Disconnect electrical connector on left rear door (X35/3) or electrical connector on right rear door (X35/4)
12	Pull lock tab (12) out with extraction hook until catch hook (13) can be actuated	Extraction hook	Fig 3
13	Press catch hook (13) with suitable screwdriver until electrical connector (11) can be tilted at top into the inner door panel
14	Guide electrical connector (11) into rear door
15	Remove rubber grommet (10) from inner door panel
16	Remove electrical connector (11) from inner door panel together with electrical wiring harness and allow to hang down
17	Unclip door joint seal (14) in area of outer door handle (15)	Model 222.0/1 except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) : Ensure that door joint seal (14) is seated correctly.
18	Unclip door rubber seal in area of door handle	Model 222.9 except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)
19	Remove outer door handle (15)
20	Loosen bolts (16), push bearing bracket (17) toward front and unhook from door paneling
21	Remove bolts (18)	Bolt, door lock to rear door	*BA72.12-P-1005-01Q
22	Unscrew bolt (19) from left front door bass speaker (H4/98) or right front door bass speaker (H4/99)	Model 222.0/1 with code 811 (High-End sound system) except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)
23.1	Unscrew screws (20) from door module (1)	When fastening door module (1) using screws (20). : Reparaturstufe1: If screws (20) are stripped out, screws with larger diameter are available from EPC for mounting door module (1). Repair stage 2: If larger bolts are also stripped out, blind rivets for mounting door module (1) are available from EPC.
23.2	Drill out rivet heads on rivets (21) from door module (1)	When fastening door module (1) with rivets (21). Commercially available devices/tools Blind rivet tool Use 7 mm dia. bit. : Fasten door module (1) on rear door with rivets (21).
24	Detach door module (1) with assembly wedge and remove	Mounting wedge	Fig 1
25	Press out any pieces of rivets remaining in the inner door panel	When fastening door module (1) with rivets (21). Removal tool	Fig 2
26	Completely remove rivet residues and drilling chips from rear door	When fastening door module (1) with rivets (21). Remove rivet residues and shaving completely. Otherwise remaining rivet residues can cause corrosion damage on rear door.
27	Install in the reverse order
