| 1 | Lift catch hook on trim piece (3) through opening (arrow B) with suitable screwdriver, then slightly guide catch hook of trim piece (3) out of armrest and hold trim piece (3) so that the catch hook cannot stuck | ||
| 2 | Unclip with trim piece (3) from front toward rear from remaining mounting points and remove | ||

| 3 | Unlock catch hook (15) through opening (arrow C) in door lining (1) and remove switch pod (18) with left rear door power window switch (S21/3), right rear door power window switch (S21/4), left rear door switch group (S21/6) or right rear door switch group (S21/7) upward from door lining (1) | ||
| 4 | Remove bolts (16) | ||
| 5 | Remove bolt (16.1) | Model 222.9 | |
| 6 | Unclip left rear door exit/warning lamp (E17/5) or right rear door exit/warning lamp (E17/6) from door lining (1) | ||

| 7 | Reach into opening (arrow A) and carefully unclip retaining clips (10) from door lining (1) | Unclip door lining (1) by hand. The door lining (1) can be damaged when using the assembly wedge. |

| 9 | Unhook inside door opener cable (5) on inside door handle (6) | ||
| 10 | Unlock electrical connectors (7, 8) on left rear door control unit (N69/3) or right rear door control unit (N69/4) and remove | ||
| 11 | Unlock electrical connectors (7.2, 7.3, 7.4) on left rear door control unit (N69/3) or right rear door control unit (N69/4) and remove | Model 222.9 | |
| 12 | Disconnect electrical connection (7.1) | Model 222.9 | |
| 13 | Unlock electrical connector (12) on left rear door midrange speaker (H4/80) or right rear door midrange speaker (H4/81) and remove | ||
| 14 | Unlock electrical connector (13) on left rear door tweeter (H4/70) or right rear door tweeter (H4/71) and remove | ||
| 15 | Unlock catch hook (21), push slide (20) downward and turn wire lock (22) in direction of arrow | Model 222.9 | |
| 16 | Pull door locking knob (4) with wire lock (22) out of door lining (1) and remove | Model 222.9 | |
| 17 | Remove door lining (1) | ||
| 18 | Install in the reverse order |
