1	Move gear selector switch to position "N"
2	Lift vehicle on vehicle lift		AR00.60-P-1000AK
3	Mark position of propeller shaft center support bearing (1) relative to vehicle floor in color and loosen screws/bolts		AR41.40-P-0002-01MTA
		Bolt, propeller shaft center support bearing to frame floor assembly	*BA41.40-P-1001-01G
4	Remove center muffler	Model 117, 156, 176, 246 with engine 270 with code M005 (4MATIC)	AR49.10-P-4816MT
		Model 117, 156, 176 with engine 133 with code M005 (4MATIC)	AR49.10-P-7100MTA
		Model 117, 156, 176, 246 with engine 651.9 with code M005 (4MATIC)	AR49.10-P-7100OLB

6	Remove heat shield (2) under propeller shaft (3)
7	Mark position of propeller shaft (3) on flange relative to power take-off (4) and rear axle differential (5) in color and remove propeller shaft (3)
	Drift for releasing the fitting sleeves in the flexible couplings		WF58.50-P-4110-01A
			AR41.10-P-0050-18MTA
		Replace bolts.
		Bolt, flexible coupling to rear axle differential	*BA41.10-P-1002-01K
		Bolt, drive shaft to transmission	*BA41.10-P-1001-01K

8	Remove screws/bolts on propeller shaft center support bearing (1) and remove propeller shaft (3)	The screws/bolts on propeller shaft center support bearing (1) should not be tightened until the propeller shaft (3) is tightened at the flange of the power take-off (4) and rear axle differential (5). Otherwise vibrations may be caused in the drive train and the propeller shaft center support bearing (1) may get damaged.
	Check
9	Check propeller shaft intermediate bearing (1) for damage	If damage is present ↓ Replace propeller shaft (3).
10	Check pilot bushing (6) of propeller shaft (3) for damage	If damage is present ↓ Replace pilot bushing (6).

11	Check flexible coupling (7) for damage	Bolt, flexible coupling to rear drive shaft If damage is present ↓	*BA41.10-P-1003-01K
			AR41.10-P-0050-18MTA
		Replace flexible coupling (7). Replace nuts and bolts.
12	Install in the reverse order
