Detach/Attach External Plate Carrier B08 On Torque Converter Housing - AR27.50-P-0617EWM

CAUTION Risk of injury  to skin and eyes due to handling of transmission oil. Health risk caused by swallowing transmission oil Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not pour transmission oil into beverage bottles.

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove planetary gear set 1 with multidisk clutch K81 and multidisk brake B08   AR27.50-P-0625EWM
2 Remove drive gear (3), chain (4) and oil pump gear (5)   AR27.10-P-0400EWM
3 Loosen screws/bolts (8) NOTES Do not unscrew bolts (8) completely.
Otherwise the outer plate carrier B08 (9) will fall down when it is pressed out; this will cause damage.
 
4 Press external plate carrier B08 (9) out of torque converter housing (2) NOTES Only press out the outer plate carrier B08 (9) far enough until it can be removed from below.
Otherwise, the external plate carrier B08 (9) and the bolts (8) may be damaged when pressing out.
NOTES Make sure that the contact surface of the ram (11) is flush fitted.
Otherwise the outer plate carrier B08 (9) will be damaged.
IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools

5 Remove bolts (8) and remove external plate carrier B08 (9)    
6 Remove intermediate panel (10)    
INSTALLING Install     
7 Check intermediate panel (10) for damage and replace if necessary    
8 Position intermediate panel (10) on external plate carrier B08 (9)    
9 Position external plate carrier B08 (9) and intermediate panel (10) onto torque converter housing (2) IMPORTANT To do so, screw in two screws (8) as guides.  
10 Press external plate carrier B08 (9) into torque converter housing (2) NOTES Make sure that the contact surface of the ram (11) is flush fitted.
Otherwise the outer plate carrier B08 (9) will be damaged.

11 Measure and adjust clearance of multidisk brake B08 When replacing the outer plate carrier B08 (9).

    Clearance in multidisk brake B08 *BE27.51-P-1003-01E

    SPECIAL TOOL Parallel support Fig 5
    SPECIAL TOOL Pressure cylinder Fig 4
    SPECIAL TOOL Set of drifts Fig 3
12 Fully tighten bolts (8) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, external plate carrier to torque converter housing/adapter housing *BA27.10-P-1003-04H 
13 Slide-on drive gear (3), chain (4) and oil pump gear (5) together NOTES Check chain (4) is correctly seated on drive gear (3) and oil pump gear (5).
Otherwise, mounting problems may occur.

14 Install planetary gear set 1 with multidisk clutch K81 and multidisk brake B08   AR27.50-P-0625EWM
