Remove/Install Timing Chain Tensioning Rail - AR05.10-P-8127MRA

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove cylinder head cover INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Only install upper engine cove after the leak test. AR01.20-P-5014MRA
2 Remove the chain tensioner (3)   AR05.10-P-7800MRA 
3 Remove camshaft positioner (4) for exhaust camshaft   AR05.20-P-7201MRA 
4 Remove cap (10) to the side of tensioning rail (2) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Replace cap (10).

REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS
Remove sliding rail bolt (1)
Specified engine oils (service) - Overview
IMPORTANT For slide rail pin (1) with thread M5, SPECIAL TOOL exchange spindle in SPECIAL TOOL extractor.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Coat sliding rail bolt (1) with engine oil.

6 Remove tensioning rail (2) upwards    
INSPECT Check

REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS
Check slide rail (5, 6) with endoscope for wear, galling and damage
000 588 01 21 00 Endoscope
For wear, galling or damage
↓
WS01.00-P-0097B
    Replace slide rails (5, 6). AR05.10-P-8480MRA 
8 Check tensioning rail (2) for wear, galling and damage For wear, galling or damage
↓
Replace tensioning rail (2).
 
9 Install in the reverse order    
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear buttoned-up and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
10 Carry out an engine test run, in doing so check engine for leaktightness    
11 Install upper engine cover
