Check Evaporator For Leaks - AR83.30-P-5550LW

DANGER Risk of explosion  when using a forming gas with incorrect mixing ratio. Risk of suffocation due to inhalation of forming gas. Risk of injury  due to bursting of high-pressure hoses. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. No smoking or open flames. Work in well-ventilated rooms only. AS83.00-Z-0001-02A
Notice  Protect air conditioning circuit and components from moisture when carrying out repair work   AH83.30-P-0005-01KOA
REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove expansion valve (7).   AR83.30-P-5520LW 
INSPECT Check     
2 Install adapter (1) with adapter hose in place of expansion valve (7) with new sealing rings (2, 6). IMPORTANT Use adapter hose from SPECIAL TOOL Adapter set (221 589 00 91 00). Use adapter (1) from SPECIAL TOOL Adapter set (222 589 00 91 00).  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 205, 253Screw/bolt, adapter to retaining plate *BA83.30-P-1011-01Q 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 213 except code 1U6 (R744 refrigerant) Screw/bolt, adapter to retaining plate *BA83.30-P-1009-01R

3 Connect leak tester to adapter hose.    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 19 21 00 Leak tester   WS83.00-P-0035B
4 Fill evaporator with forming gas and check for leak tightness. IMPORTANT Pay attention to the leak tester operator's manual.
Do not fill evaporator with forming gas unless engine is cold.
IMPORTANT Temperature changes during the pressure test (e.g. because of change in weather or cooling down of the engine compartment) can cause pressure fluctuations. Consistent ambient conditions must therefore be strictly ensured.		  
    Pressure drop in refrigerant circuit filled with test gas
In the event of leakage.
↓
replace evaporator.		 *BE83.30-P-1001-04A 
      AR83.30-P-5540LW 
5 Disconnect leak tester unit from adapter hose.    
6 Remove adapter (1) with adapter hose.    
INSTALLING Install     
7 Install expansion valve (7) with new sealing rings (2, 6).   AR83.30-P-5520LW
