Retrofit Illuminated Door Sill Molding With Mercedes-Benz Lettering - AZ82.20-P-0005LWG

Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
REMOVING Remove     
1 Detach driver-side fuse and relay module (K40/6)    
2 Detach door seals from entrance area at left and right    
3 Use suitable means to remove front right door sills and remove adhesive residue    
Notes on removing adhesive residues and foils on paint and metal surfaces with surface conditioning disks   AH00.00-P-0013-01AK
    IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 
Battery-operated drill
IMPORTANT Left and right door sill moldings are no longer required. Use commercially available surface conditioning disk with dia.100 mm.		  
    SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Fig 1
4 Remove front floor covering on driver side    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR68.20-P-2050LW
5 Remove front floor covering on front passenger side    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR68.20-P-2070LW
6 Remove front footrest on passenger side    
INSTALLING Install     
7 Fit electrical wiring harness of illuminated door sill molding with Mercedes-Benz lettering to the front   AZ82.20-P-0005-01LWG 
Notes on the use of paint scraping nuts on ground connections   AH00.19-P-1000-20A
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Right front footwell ground point (CAN) *BA00.19-P-1019-01E 
8 Install control unit for illuminated door sill moldings with Mercedes-Benz lettering   AZ82.20-P-0005-05LWG 
    Self-adhesive felt strip 40X2 mm *BR00.45-Z-1074-01A 
    Binder Duotec® Mushroom in mushroom velcro - with adhesive 32 *BR00.45-Z-1084-02A 
9 Install front left illuminated door sill molding (E17/47) and front right illuminated door sill molding (E17/48)   AZ82.20-P-0005-10LWG 
    Cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1025-04A 
INSPECT Check     
10 Carry out function check IMPORTANT Front left illuminated door sill molding (E17/47) or front right illuminated door sill molding (E17/48) is switched on by opening corresponding front door. Automatic shutoff takes place after approx. 5 min.  
INSTALLING Install     
11 Install remaining parts    
  Update Vehicle Documentation (VeDoc)     
12 Attach "Illuminated door sill molding retrofitted as per AZ82.20-P-0005LWG note" under field organization texts on design group 68 and KG82
