- Cut-off both blue 2-pin plugs (2.3) and insulate electric lines.
The two blue 2-pin connectors (2.3) are not required.
- Open cable duct at front right.
- Place illuminated door sill molding wiring harness (2) into front passenger footwell.
The black, 18-pin connector (2.4) of the illuminated door sill molding wiring harness (2) is connected to the illuminated door sill molding control unit at a later stage.
- Route brown line (BN) to front right footwell ground point (W15/8) and fix in place with cable ties.
- Connect brown line (BN) to front right footwell ground point (W15/8) and fix in place with cable ties
.
A maximum of 5 connectors may be connected to a ground point. If already occupied choose another ground point.
- Route right illuminated door sill molding branch-off line (2.2) along existing lines through cable duct and fix in place with cable ties.
Route the right illuminated door sill molding branch-off line (2.2) in such a way that the black 2-pin plug (2.8) can be clipped into the provided cutout later.
- Route illuminated door sill molding wiring harness (2) into driver footwell.
Use a pull-through device.
- Route black 18-pin connector socket (2.4) to illuminated door sill molding control unit, and fix in place.
- Open cable duct at front left.
- Route illuminated door sill molding wiring harness (2) to left A-pillar, and fix in place with cable ties.
- Route left illuminated door sill molding branch-off line (2.1) along existing lines through the cable duct and fix in place with cable ties.
Route left illuminated door sill molding branch-off line (2.7) in such a way that the black 2-pin plug can be clipped into the provided cutout later.
- Route twisted brown line (BN) and brown/red line (BN/RD) to the electrical connection for the potential distributor interior CAN (CAN B) (X30/32) and fix in place with cable tie.
- Attach black 2-pin connector socket (2.5) of twisted brown line (BN) and brown/red line (Bn/RD) to any free slot of left interior CAN (CAN B) potential distributor electrical connector (X30/32).
If no slots are free.
↓
Remove any black 2-pin connector from left interior CAN (CAN B) potential distributor electrical connector (X30/32). Insert extension for potential distributor as well as adapter line and connect removed black 2-pin connector socket and black 2-pin connector socket of twisted brown line (BN) and the brown/red line (BN/RD).
- Route red line (RD) with STP contact (2.5) to driver side locking clip for relay module (K40/6) and fix in place with cable ties.
- Check whether contact for fuse holder is assigned in driver side fuse and relay module (K40/6).
If contact is not used
↓
Remove lock (20) on driver side fuse and relay module (K40/6), install electrical jumper (21) into slot "S7" and chamber "9" of driver side fuse and relay module (K40/6), and install lock (20).
Slot "S7" and chamber "9" of the driver side fuse and relay module (K40/6) are labeled.
- Attach red fuse holder (2.6) to slot "S7" of driver side fuse and relay module (K40/6).
Slot "S7" of driver side fuse and relay module (K40/6) is labeled.
- Insert fuse with fuse rating of 5 A into red fuse holder (2.6).
