Remove/Install Rear Side Window - AR67.30-P-4000LWS

REMOVING Remove     
1 Open side window in driver door. NOTES The side window in the driver door must be open during the curing time of the adhesive material.
This prevents the side window (1) from being pressed outwards by the air pressure when a door is closed.
 
2 Remove trim from C-pillar. Model 253.992/993 AR68.30-P-4490RFW

3 Remove trim on D-pillar. Model 205.2 AR68.30-P-4495LW

4 Remove side load compartment trim. Model 253.992/993 AR68.30-P-1180RFW

5 Disconnect electrical connection (2). Model 205.2, 213.2, 253.9, 293
with code 882 (Interior protection and tow-away protection)
 
6.1 Unclip trim elements (3, 4) at side window (1). Model 205.2, 213.2, 253.9, 293  
    NOTES Model 205.2  
    Carefully unclip trim pieces (3, 4). Otherwise the trim pieces (3, 4) can be damaged.
IMPORTANT Model 213.2, 253.9, 293
 
    Trim pieces (3, 4) are damaged during removal and must always be replaced.

6.2 Unclip trim element at side window (1). Model 253.3
IMPORTANT Trim piece is damaged during removal and must always be replaced.

7 Protect area around side window (1) against damage with tape.    
8 Position cutting wire behind sealing lip at adhesive material so that ends point toward door cutout.    
9 Secure side window (1) using suitable tape against falling down.    
WARNING Risk of injury  from cutting wire tearing or becoming hot and from splinters of glass when cutting out bonded windows Wear protective gloves and safety glasses. AS67.00-Z-0004-01A 
10 Cut out side window (1) and remove. IMPORTANT Aid of helper required.
IMPORTANT When cutting out side window (1), mounting clips are damaged.
The side window (1) must therefore always be replaced.

INSTALLING Install     
11 Prepare window frame.   AR67.30-P-0005-04LWG 
  General notes about painting the body flange in the glazing area NOTES Bonding area must be fully free from dust and grease.

    material starts to decrease.
NOTES When damaged to a degree of < 10 % it is possible to repair with primer stick. If damage is > 10 % the window frame must be coated with primer filler.
 
    Otherwise corrosion damage may occur.
IMPORTANT Use only primer fillers and primer sticks approved by Daimler AG: https://xentryportaLi.daimler.com 
 
    IMPORTANT Use only repair kit specified in EPC.  
    Primer stick *BR00.45-Z-1012-07A 
12 Apply cleaner (activator) in the bonding area on the side window (1) and rub dry with a dry cloth. NOTES The bonding area must be free of dust and grease.
Otherwise the adhesive force of the adhesive material starts to decrease.
IMPORTANT Use only repair kit specified in EPC.
 
13 Apply primer in the bonding area of the new side window (1). NOTES The primer must flash off for at least 10 min.
Otherwise the adhesive force of the adhesive material starts to decrease.
NOTES The bonding area on the new side window (1) must be free of dust and grease.
Otherwise the adhesive force of the adhesive
 
    material starts to decrease.  
    IMPORTANT Use only repair kit specified in EPC.  
14 Apply adhesive material to the new side window (1).   AR67.30-P-4000-07LWS 
    NOTES The side window (1) must be inserted within 10 min after applying the adhesive material. Otherwise the adhesive force of the adhesive material may be decreased.  
    IMPORTANT Use only repair kit specified in EPC.  
15 Insert side window (1).   AR67.30-P-4000-08LWS 
    IMPORTANT Model 213.2, 253, 293
New side window (1) is delivered with installed trim element or installed trim elements (3, 4).
IMPORTANT Observe manufacturer's specifications for curing time of adhesive material.
Perform following work only after curing time.
 
16 Install trim elements (3, 4). Model 205.2
IMPORTANT Ensure that trim pieces (3, 4) are seated correctly.
 
17 Connect electrical connection (2). Model 205.2, 213.2, 253.9, 293
with code 882 (Interior protection and tow-away protection)
 
18 Install side load compartment trim. Model 253 (except 253.992/993), 293 AR68.30-P-1180LWG

    Model 253.992/993 AR68.30-P-4490RFW
19 Install trim on D-pillar. Model 205.2 AR68.30-P-4495LW

20 Install trim on C-pillar. Model 253.992/993 AR68.30-P-4490RFW
    Model 205.2, 213.2 AR68.30-P-4490LWS

21 Close side window of the driver's door.    
CLEAN Clean     
22 Clean new side window (1), adjacent painted parts and vehicle interior.
