The bonding area (2) must be completely free of dust and grease. Otherwise the adhesive force of the adhesive material starts to decrease.
When damaged to a degree of < 10 % it is possible to repair with primer stick. If damage is > 10 %, the body flange (1) must be coated with primer filler.
Otherwise corrosion damage may occur.
- Level residual adhesive material on body flange (1) down to a height of approx. 2 mm using suitable scraper and remove loose adhesive material.
- Clean working area.
- Clean adhesive area (2) on body flange (1) and rub dry with dry cloth.
- Repair paint damage in bonding area (2) and on body flange (1) with primer stick or primer filler.
Observe the manufacturer's specifications for the curing and processing time of the primer filler.
- Apply primer to areas of body flange (1) where no remaining or damaged adhesive is present.
Allow primer to flash off at least 10 min.
Otherwise the adhesive force of the adhesive material starts to decrease.
