Remove/Install Radial Shaft Sealing Ring On Rear Axle Drive Pinion - AR35.30-P-4672MFC

CAUTION Risk of injury  to skin and eyes due to handling of transmission oil. Health risk caused by swallowing transmission oil Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not pour transmission oil into beverage bottles.		 AS00.40-Z-0001-01A
CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.		 AS00.00-Z-0017-01A
Notice  Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts   AH00.00-P-0001-01KOA
REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove propeller shaft.   AR41.10-P-0050MFA
2 Remove retaining ring (1).    
3 Clean area surrounding drive flange (2). Assembly cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
4 Mark position of drive flange (2) relative to input shaft of rear axle differential (5) in color. IMPORTANT The drive flange (2) and the rear axle differential (5) are balanced with each other.  
5 Pull off drive flange (2) using puller. SPECIAL TOOL Puller Fig 1
6 Check drive flange (2) for damage. If damage is found,
↓
replace rear axle differential (5).		 AR35.31-P-0522MFC 
7 Remove cover (3).    
8 Pry radial shaft sealing ring (4) out of rear axle differential (5) using a suitable tool. NOTES
Do not damage the seat of the radial shaft sealing ring (4) in the rear axle differential (5).
Otherwise leaks may occur.		  
9 Clean seat of radial shaft sealing ring (4) in rear axle differential (5). Assembly cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
10 Check seat of radial shaft sealing ring (4) in rear axle differential (5) for damage. If damage is found,
↓
replace rear axle differential (5).		 AR35.31-P-0522MFC 
INSTALLING Install     
11 Coat inner sealing lip of radial shaft sealing ring (4) with transmission oil.    
REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS Universal hypoid gear oils (specification 235.7) NOTES
Do not apply any transmission oil to the seat and outer circumference of the radial shaft sealing ring (4).
Otherwise leaks may occur.
IMPORTANT Replace the radial shaft sealing ring (4).		 BB00.40-P-0235-07A
12 Press radial shaft sealing ring (4) into rear axle differential (5). SPECIAL TOOL Drift Fig 2
13 Install cover (3).    
14 Grease gearing of drive flange (2). Molykote paste HTP special lubricating grease *BR00.45-Z-1028-06A 
15 Restore original installation position of drive flange (2) based on colored marking.    
16 Install drive flange (2) using drift. SPECIAL TOOL Drift Fig 3
17 Install retaining ring (1). IMPORTANT Install new retaining ring (1).  
18 Install propeller shaft.   AR41.10-P-0050MFA
INSPECT Check     
19 Check and correct oil level in rear axle differential (5).   AR35.31-P-0520-08MFC 
    FLUID SPECIFICATION Rear axle differential filling capacity *BF35.31-P-1001-02F 
    Sealant, Omnifit 100H (50 g) *BR00.45-Z-1061-01A 
    Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray *BR00.45-Z-1046-04A 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Filling screw/drain screw to housing cover at front/side *BA35.31-P-1005-07A 
20 Check rear axle differential (5) for leak tightness.
