Remove/Install Slide Rail Of Timing Chain - AR05.10-P-8480MFC

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove cylinder head cover. When removing the upper slide rail (5).
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Do not install engine cover until after the leak test.

2 Remove slide rail (5) from the cylinder head cover. When removing the upper slide rail (5).  
3 Remove bottom timing case cover. When removing the lower slide rail (6).
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Only install engine compartment lining after leak test.

4 Remove cylinder head. When removing the lower slide rail (6). AR01.30-P-5800MFC
5 Remove slide rail (6) from the slide rail pins (7). When removing the lower slide rail (6).  
INSPECT Check     
6 Check tensioning rail (2) and slide rails (5, 6) for wear, galling, and damage. If problems exist,

Replace corresponding components.
Replace tensioning rail (2).

7 Install in the reverse order.    
WARNING Risk of burn injuries,  suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area. AS49.00-Z-0001-01A
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
8 Carry out an engine test run; check engine for leak tightness while doing so.
