Remove/Install Oil Engine Pan - AR01.45-P-7500MFC

DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
WARNING Risk of injury.  Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
CAUTION Risk of injury  to skin and eyes due to handling of Engine oil. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing Engine oil Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill Engine oil into beverage containers.

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Drain off Engine oil and remove oil filter.    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE   INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Only install lower Engine compartment paneling after leak test. AP18.00-P-0101MFA
2 Remove the catalytic converter.   AR49.20-P-0100MFC
3 Release and disconnect electrical connector at oil sensor (oil level, temperature, and quality) (B40) and unclip electric line at oil pan (1).    
4 Remove lower Engine stabilizer mount.   AR22.10-P-1155MFC
5 Unscrew bolts (7) and remove rear Engine carrier (8). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace screws (7).
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, Engine carrier to crankcase/oil pan

6 Remove screws (2) from refrigerant compressor on oil pan (1). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, refrigerant compressor to timing case/oil pan *BA83.55-P-1001-02F 
7 Remove screws (10), remove holder (9) from transmission together with circulation pump and place to one side. TORQUE SPECIFICATION M6x1 *BA00.10-P-1002-04A 
8 Remove screws (5) for transmission bell housing on oil pan (1). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 260 in model 118, 177, 247 with transmission 724.0

9 Remove screws (1a) in reverse order to the tightening procedure. Tightening procedure for oil pan bolts
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Pay attention to different lengths of screws.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Observe tightening procedure for oil pan (1).

    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, oil pan to crankcase/timing case cover *BA01.45-P-1001-01T 
10 Release oil pan (1) from crankcase (6) and remove downward.
Notes on sealant path for oil pan
  AH01.45-P-0001-01MMA 
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 15 84 00 Heat gun   WS54.00-P-0125B
    NOTES Do not drive any tools between crankcase (6) and oil pan (1) to loosen them.
The sealing surfaces can be damaged otherwise.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Apply sealant to sealing surface of oil pan (1) and, in doing so, observe notes on sealant path on the oil pan (1).

11 Remove oil sensor (oil level, temperature, and quality) (B40). When installing a new oil pan (1). AR18.40-P-5112MFD
CLEAN Clean     
12 Clean sealing surface of the oil pan (1). If oil pan (1) is to be reused.
NOTES Do not use any sharp-edged tools or abrasive paper.
The sealing surface will otherwise be damaged.

    Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray *BR00.45-Z-1046-04A 
    Loctite 7200 *BR00.45-Z-1038-04A 
13 Clean sealing surface of crankcase (6). NOTES Do not use any sharp-edged tools or abrasive paper.
The sealing surface will otherwise be damaged.

    Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray *BR00.45-Z-1046-04A

14 Install in the reverse order.    
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when Engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the Engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
15 Perform Engine test run. While doing so, check Engine for proper operation and leak tightness.    
16 Install lower Engine compartment lining. Engine 260 in model 118, 177, 247 with code M016 (Uprated Engine) AR61.20-P-1105MFR
