Disassemble/Assemble Front Bumper - AR88.20-P-2050MFA

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove front bumper (1) and set down on clean, padded base. IMPORTANT In order to prevent soiling or damage. AR88.20-P-2000MFA 
DISASSEMBLINGASSEMBLING Disassemble/assemble     
2 Remove license plate number and license plate bracket.    
3 Remove expansion rivets (2) and support (3) from front bumper (1). SPECIAL TOOL Dismantling tool Fig 1
4 Remove front parking system distance sensors (B8/1 to B8/6) in front bumper (1) with connected electrical connectors.   AR54.65-P-0001MFA
5.1 Remove Active Brake Assist controller unit (A108). Model 118, 177, 247.0
with code 258 (Collision warning system with active brake application FCW-Stop)

5.2 Remove electric controller unit for Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC (A108/1). Model 118

6 Remove outside temperature sensor (B14). Only when replacing outside temperature sensor (B14) or cover (5) on the left.  
7 Remove electrical wiring harness (4) from front bumper (1). NOTES
Do not crush, kink or subject electrical wiring harness (4) to tension.
This will result in damage to the lines which may impair their functional capability.
NOTES
Carefully remove electrical wiring harness (4).
Front parking system distance sensors (B8/1 to B8/6) will otherwise be damaged.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Ensure they are routed correctly.

8 Unclip bracket (6). Model 118, 177, 247.0

9 Unclip and remove air grille (7). SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Fig 2
10 Drill off blind rivets (11). Model 118, 177, 247.0
with code 772 (AMG styling - Front spoiler, side skirts)
IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 
drill
A drill bit
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : First install covers (5) then air grille (7).
 
11 Unclip covers (5) on left and right and remove. SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Fig 2
12 Remove radiator grille.   AR88.40-P-4001MFA 
13 Remove small emblem badge (9). NOTESAssembly  :
Ensure that area around small emblem badge (9) is covered using a suitable means.
The paintwork may otherwise be damaged.
NOTESAssembly  :
Ensure that locking clips are correctly secured on retaining pins of small emblem badge (9).
Correct seat of small emblem badges (9) is otherwise not ensured.
IMPORTANTAssembly  : Replace small emblem badge (9).

14 Remove cover (10) of towing eye. SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Fig 2
15 Assemble in the reverse order.    
INSTALLING Install     
16 Install front bumper (1).   AR88.20-P-2000MFA
