	Remove
1	Remove Mercedes star in radiator grille.
		The Mercedes star is no longer required.	AR88.40-P-4053MFA
2	Completely remove the air filter housing and place to one side with connected lines if applicable.
		Model 118 with engine 260	AR09.10-P-1150MFC
		Model 118 with engine 282 Do not separate the upper part of the air filter housing from the lower part of the air filter housing.	AR09.10-P-1150MFD
3	Unscrew engine compartment pre-fuse box (F150/3) from engine compartment fuse and relay module (F152/3) and release.
		Disconnect electric line from above at engine compartment pre-fuse box (F150/3). Do not disconnect the electric lines from the side and from below.	AR54.15-P-1330MFA
4	Unclip engine compartment fuse and relay module (F152/3) from holder, release, lift, and place to one side.
		Do not disconnect electric lines from engine compartment fuse and relay module (F152/3).	AR54.15-P-1257MFA
	Install
5	Prepare holder of engine compartment fuse and relay module (F152/3) for retrofitting the wiring harness for the illuminated Mercedes star (1).		AZ88.40-P-0011-03MFC
6	Install the wiring harness for the illuminated Mercedes star (1).		AZ88.40-P-0011-01MFD
Topical note	Notes on the use of paint scraping nuts on ground connections	Ensure that the active brake assist controller unit (A108) and electric controller unit active distance assist DISTRONIC (A108/1) are not covered by retrofitted component parts. Otherwise, malfunctions of the Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC and Active Brake Assist may occur.	AH00.19-P-1000-20A

7	Install engine compartment fuse and relay module (F152/3).

8	Connect engine compartment pre-fuse box (F150/3) to engine compartment fuse and relay module (F152/3).

9	Install air filter housing.
		Model 118 with engine 260	AR09.10-P-1150MFC

10	Connect ground line to battery.
			AR54.10-P-0003MFA
	Check
11	Carry out function check.	The illuminated Mercedes star (1) is switched on by switching on the ignition.

12	Attach note "Illuminated Mercedes star retrofitted as per AZ88.40-P-0011MFC" under field organization texts to design group 88 and design group 54.
