	Risk of injury caused by body parts being trapped or crushed when working on a partially open Vario roof (in stop mode) or in its closing area as a result of the Vario roof suddenly collapsing	Secure Vario roof with a suitable special tool.	AS77.50-Z-0001-01A
	Remove
1	Move Vario roof to intermediate position with Vario roof control switch and secure		AR77.50-P-3000-01W

2	Unscrew bolts (2, 3) and remove seal (1)	Install new seal (1). Otherwise leakage is possible.
	Clean
3	Remove sealant residues from sealing surface on Vario roof front section (4) and thoroughly clean sealing surface	Sealing surface must be free of grease and dust.
		Otherwise leakage is possible. Observe flash-off time for cleaning agent.
		Cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1025-04A
	Install
4	Lay butyl cords (5) down on new seal (1) as shown. In the process wind the butyl cords (5) up to form a ball	Do not touch butyl cords (5) with bare fingers. Contact points on seals (1) for the butyl cords (5) must be free of grease and dust. Otherwise leakage is possible.
		The length of the butyl cords (5) is 2 cm.

5	Coat sealing lips (6) with lubricant	Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 l	*BR00.45-Z-1010-06A
6	Position seal (1) on Vario roof front section (4) and clip sealing lips (6) into retaining rail (7)	First insert sealing lips (6) in area (A) and press in area (B) with assembly wedge. Observe installation dimension (c) of approx. 27 mm. Do not damage butyl cords (5).

7	Tighten screw (2)
8	Tighten screw (3)
9	Remove support for securing intermediate position and close Vario roof completely with Vario roof actuation switch
10	Check whether seal (1) is seated correctly	Do not tuck seal (1). Sealing lips (6) should be positioned over the entire length of the retaining rail (7). The seal (1) must make uniform slight contact with A-pillar seal (8) and C-pillar seal (9).

11	Open Vario roof with Vario roof actuation switch until the seal (1) no longer makes contact with A-pillar seal (8) and C-pillar seal (9)	If the seat of the seal (1) must be corrected.
		Leave ignition switched on. The Vario roof remains in this position for approx. 7 min. in the stop mode. The Vario roof closes automatically after 7 minutes. The stop mode can be increased by an additional 7 min. by actuating the Vario roof actuation switch again.
12	Loosen bolt (2) and pull or tuck seal (1) at corresponding end and ensure that the A-pillar seal (8) is installed correctly	If the seat of the seal (1) must be corrected.
13	Tighten screw (2)
14	Loosen bolt (3) and pull or tuck seal (1) at rear end and ensure that C-pillar seal (9) is pressed on correctly	If the seat of the seal (1) must be corrected.
15	Tighten screw (3)
16	Completely close Vario roof with Vario roof actuation switch	If the seat of the seal (1) must be corrected.
17	Perform rain test
