REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1.1 Detach left or right underfloor paneling (3) in area of stop plate (6). Model 205.0/1/2/3
Model 213.0 (except 213.064/088/089), 213.1
Model 253 (except 253.388/389/988/989/992/993)

Model 253 (except 253.388/389/988/989/992/993) with engine 177, 264, 274, 276, 642, 651		 AR61.30-P-1001LW
    Model 213.0 (except 213.064/088/089), 213.1 AR61.30-P-1001LWE
1.2 Remove underfloor paneling (3) in area of thrust arm (10) to be removed. Model 253.992/993 AR61.30-P-1001RFW
1.3 Remove diagonal strut. Model 205.4
Model 213.2 (except 213.264/288/289)		 AR61.10-P-5142LWP
1.4 Remove front underfloor paneling. Model 293 AR61.30-P-1001EQ
2 Release left or right fender liner in rear fender until screws (4) are accessible. Model 293 AR88.10-P-1400LW
3 Remove screws (4) from stop plate (6). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 293Bolt, stop plate to body *BA35.10-P-1003-01T 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 205, 213 (except 213.064/088/089/264/288/289), 253 (except 253.388/389/988/989) Bolt, stop plate to body *BA35.10-P-1003-01H 
4 Support rear axle using an assembly mount and mounting plate.    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 10 62 00 Support plate   WS26.00-P-3309B
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 11 62 00 Major assembly mount   WS01.00-P-0092B
5 Remove screw (5) and remove stop plate (6). IMPORTANT Do not use an impact wrench.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 293Self-locking bolt securing front decoupling element of rear axle carrier to frame floor assembly		 *BA35.10-P-1001-01T 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 205, 213 (except 213.064/088/089/264/288/289), 253 (except 253.388/389/988/989) Self-locking bolt securing front decoupling element of rear axle carrier to frame floor assembly *BA35.10-P-1001-01H 
6 Clean thread of screw (5) in frame floor assembly using compressed air. IMPORTANT Make sure that the threaded insert is seated correctly.  
7 Remove nut from screw (7) and pull out screw (7). IMPORTANTSPECIAL TOOL Use screwdriver bit if a screw (7) with a multi-point socket is installed.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 293Bolt, thrust arm to wheel carrier *BA35.20-P-1002-05L 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 205, 213 (except 213.064/088/089/264/288/289), 253 (except 253.388/389/988/989) Bolt, thrust arm to wheel carrier *BA35.20-P-1002-05J 
    SPECIAL TOOL Screwdriver bit Fig 2
8 Remove nut (8) and pull out screw. IMPORTANTSPECIAL TOOL Use screwdriver bit if a screw with a multi-point socket is installed.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 293Bolt, thrust arm to rear axle carrier *BA35.20-P-1001-05L 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 205, 213 (except 213.064/088/089/264/288/289), 253 (except 253.388/389/988/989) Bolt, thrust arm to rear axle carrier *BA35.20-P-1001-05J 
    SPECIAL TOOL Screwdriver bit Fig 2
9 Remove thrust arm (10).    
10 Remove covers (1, 2) from thrust arm (10). Model 205 (except 205.386/387/486/487)
Model 213 (except 213.064/088/089/264/288/289)
Model 253 (except 253.388/389/988/989)
Model 293		  
INSPECT Check     
11 Check elastomer bearing of thrust arm (10) in wheel carrier (9). In the event of a problem,
↓
Replace elastomer bearing of thrust arm (10) in wheel carrier (9).

12 Check thrust arm (10) for condition and damage. In the event of a problem,
↓
Replace thrust arm (10).		  
13 Check elastomer bearing in thrust arm. In the event of a problem,
↓
replace elastomer bearing.		  
14 Install in the reverse order.    
MEASURING Measure     
15 Perform chassis alignment. Model 205.386/387/486/487 AR40.20-P-0200LW
