	Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

	Remove/install
1	Secure vehicle on vehicle lift	Only release vehicle after leak test.	AR00.60-P-0100CW
2	Remove corresponding rear wheel and tire assembly		AR40.10-P-1102A
3	Remove wheel carrier		AR35.20-P-0115MNE
4	Pry rear axle shaft (37) out of rear axle differential (50)	Do not position lever on protective ring (37a). Otherwise damage will occur. Support lever, e.g. using a socket wrench, on rear axle differential (50).
5	Take out rear axle shaft (37)	Replace locking ring (37o) on inner spline profile.
6	Replace radial shaft sealing ring in rear axle differential (50)		AR35.30-P-4651OLC
7	Check constant velocity joints for damage	If a problem arises ↓ Replace rear axle shaft (37).
8	Check boots for damage	If a problem arises ↓ Replace corresponding boot.	AR35.30-P-0662-01OLC

9	Install in the reverse order
10	Check oil level in rear axle differential (50) and correct, if necessary		AR35.31-P-0520-08MNE

		Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray	*BR00.45-Z-1046-04A

	Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
11	Perform engine test run; when doing so, check rear axle differential (50) for leak tightness
12	Disconnect vehicle from vehicle lift		AR00.60-P-0100CW
