	Risk of burn injuries,  suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. 	Remove/install
1	Remove center and rear sections of lower engine compartment lining.	Engine 656 in model 213, 238	AR61.20-P-1105LWE
		Engine 656 in model 257 : Only install center and rear lower rear engine compartment paneling again after leak test.	AR61.20-P-1105FR
2	Remove trim of the rear-end floor.	Engine 656 in model 213.2, 238.4
3	Remove left and right underfloor paneling.	Engine 656 in model 213, 238	AR61.30-P-1001LWE
		Engine 656 in model 257	AR61.30-P-1001FR
4.1	Remove trim of the rear left strut from the longitudinal member.	Engine 656 in model 213.2
4.2	Remove trim of the longitudinal member in the area of the rear left strut.	Engine 656 in model 238.4

5	Remove rear left strut.	Engine 656 in model 213.2, 238.4 Bolt, front diagonal strut to longitudinal member	*BA61.10-P-1007-01L
		Bolt, rear diagonal strut to spare wheel well/body	*BA61.10-P-1008-01L
6	Remove center reinforcement.	Bolt, center reinforcement to frame floor assembly	*BA61.10-P-1003-01L
7	Remove NOx sensor downstream of SCR catalytic converter (N37/8b1) from exhaust system (1).		AR49.20-P-2062OIB
8	Release and disconnect electrical connector from exhaust gas flap controller (M16/57).
9	Support exhaust system (1).

10	Unscrew nuts (3)	: Replace nuts (3).
		Bolt/nut, holder to front exhaust system/transmission holder	*BA49.10-P-1015-02O
11	Remove clamp (2)	: Replace clamp (2) and seal.
		Clamp to diesel particulate filter and front exhaust system	*BA49.10-P-1001-02O
12	Remove screws (4)	Bolt, decoupling element for exhaust system to exhaust system	*BA49.10-P-1007-02O
13	Remove exhaust system (1) from elastomer bearings (5).	: Wet elastomer bearings (5) with lubricant.
		Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 l	*BR00.45-Z-1010-06A
14	Remove exhaust system (1).

		Aid of helper required.
15	Remove front bracket of exhaust system (1)	When replacing exhaust system (1).
		Bolt/nut, holder to front exhaust system/transmission holder	*BA49.10-P-1015-02O
	Clean
16	Remove combustion and corrosion residue at connecting points.
	Check
17	Check elastomer bearings (5) and decoupling element (6) for damage and wear and replace if necessary.	Nut, decoupling element for front exhaust system to bracket	*BA49.10-P-1006-02O
18	Install in the reverse order.
19	Check installation position and clearance of exhaust system (1) and correct if necessary.
	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
20	Perform engine test run and check leaktightness of exhaust system (1).
21	Install center and rear lower engine compartment lining.	Engine 656 in model 213, 238	AR61.20-P-1105LWE
