REMOVING Remove     
1 Open driver door side window IMPORTANT To prevent stationary rear element (1) on panoramic sliding roof just glued in from being pressed outwards by the air pressure when closing the doors.  
2 Adjust flexible glass element (4) on panoramic sliding roof to tilt position    
3 Remove seal (3) on rear stationary glass element (1)    
4 Close flexible glass element (4) of panoramic sliding roof    
5.1 Remove left and right drip rail (2) Model 213.0/1

5.2 Remove left and right roof railing Model 213.2
with code 413 (Panoramic sliding sunroof/glass roof)
 
6 Determine gap dimension between rear stationary element (1) and flexible glass element (4) and note SPECIAL TOOL Feeler gauge Fig 1
7.1 Determine gap dimension (A) between rear stationary element (1) and rear window (5) and note Model 213.0/1

8.1 Remove headliner and lay down in vehicle Model 213.0/1

IMPORTANT Do not remove front seats and center console.

8.2 Remove headliner and take out from vehicle through opening of liftgate with aid of helper Model 213.2

9 Remove roller sun blind at rear   AR77.21-P-0201LWE 
10 Mask adjacent paint surfaces with duct tape    
11 Mask rear window (5) with duct tape    
12 Cover vehicle interior with suitable agents    
13 Punch adhesive bead (8) at front left corner with pull-in device (6) as shown and guide cutting wire into vehicle interior NOTES
Cove body with rag (7).
Otherwise the paint on the body can be damaged.
 
WARNING Risk of injury  due to snapping or warming up of cutting wire and due to splinters when cutting out glued panoramic roofs Wear cut-proof gloves and safety glasses. AS77.21-Z-0002-01A 
14 Cut adhesive beads (8, 8.1) in direction of arrow
Notes on removal/installation of bonded elements of panoramic roof

NOTES
Ensure that outer edges of the rear stationary element (1) is protected by SPECIAL TOOL shields before cutting with cutting wire. Always replace damaged stationary rear element (1).

Ensure that the outer edges of the stationary rear element (1) are not damaged by the hot cutting wire.
Always replace damaged stationary rear element (1).
NOTES
Model 213.0/1
with code 413 (Panoramic sliding sunroof/glass roof)
Ensure that the person working inside the vehicle does not damage the headliner. Position headliner according to working location.
Always replace kink or break points on damaged headliner.
IMPORTANT Helper required.
Protect plastic mount (arrow A) on seal (3) of stationary rear element (1) with SPECIAL TOOL shields against damage.

15 Remove stationary rear element (1) from body with aid of helper    
INSTALLING Install     
16 Prepare stationary rear element (1) for installation NOTES
Before starting work, all components, materials and tools must be prepared for installing the stationary rear element (1). Otherwise it may not be possible to maintain permissible processing and joining times.

17 Prepare body flange   AR77.21-P-0802-03LWE 
18 Apply adhesive to stationary rear element (1)   AR77.21-P-0802-04LWE

19 Install stationary rear element (1) on body with aid of helper and align IMPORTANT Before removing determined gap dimensions (A) of stationary rear element (1) in relation to detachable parts.
IMPORTANT Center stationary rear element (1) between side roof panelings.

20 Remove duct tape    
21 Install rear roller sun blind   AR77.21-P-0201LWE 
22.1 Remove left and right drip rail (2) Model 213.0/1

22.2 Install left and right roof railing Model 213.2
with code 413 (Panoramic sliding sunroof/glass roof)
 
23 Install headliner Model 213.2

24 Adjust flexible glass element (4) on panoramic roof to tilt position    
25 Install seal (3) on stationary rear element (1)    
26 Close flexible glass element (4) of panoramic roof    
INSPECT Check     
27 Before initially driving the vehicle, ensure that bonded connection is cured using fabricated reference adhesive bead NOTES
Do not drive vehicle for 10 h after gluing in stationary rear element (1).
Otherwise the strength of the adhesive connection can be impaired and proper adhesion of the adhesive material is not ensured.
 
28 After the adhesive bead is completely cured, remove weights from stationary rear element (1) NOTES
Do not remove weights before reference adhesive bead is completely cured.
Otherwise the strength of the adhesive connection can be impaired and proper adhesion of the adhesive material is not ensured.
 
29 Normalize panoramic sliding roof with diagnostic system and perform teach-in run for automatic reversing function
