  1. Unscrew self-locking nut (1) from supporting ball joint (2).
  2. SPECIAL TOOL Screw thrust piece (043) onto supporting ball joint (2).

    IMPORTANTSPECIAL TOOL Use 129 589 10 63 00 on upper ball joint at top and SPECIAL TOOL 140 589 00 63 00 supporting ball joint (2) at bottom.

  3. Pry off supporting ball joint (2) using SPECIAL TOOL puller (044) and SPECIAL TOOL press (045).

    NOTES Do not damage seal bellows.

    Otherwise, the supporting ball joint (2) must be replaced.

  4. SPECIAL TOOL Remove puller (044), SPECIAL TOOL press (045) and SPECIAL TOOL thrust piece (043).

    Mount 

  5. Clean tapered connection.

    INSTALLATION NOTES Ensure that the conical joint and threads are free of oil and grease.

    Otherwise, a correct connection will not be assured.

  6. Replace self-locking nut (1) on supporting ball joint (2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION or on upper ball joint TORQUE SPECIFICATION and tighten.
