CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Perform initial startup of the HERMES control unit (N112/9) When replacing the HERMES control unit (N112/9).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04B
2 Move driver seat and passenger set toward front to end position    
3 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m)    
4 Release rear wall paneling in area of top right side INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Installation: Edge guard of the door must be seated correctly. AR68.30-P-4750RG
5 Remove C-pillar trim on right   AR68.30-P-4490RG
6 Remove bolts (1)    
7 Loosen cover (2) from the side trim on the right of the trunk (3) in the direction of the arrow and place to one side NOTES
It must be ensured that the electric lines are not
stretched or kinked.
In order to prevent damage.
 
8 Release and disconnect electrical connectors from HERMES control unit (N112/9) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT The electric lines must be routed correctly.  
9 Unscrew nuts (5)    
10 Remove HERMES control unit (N112/9)    
11 Install in the reverse order
