Speaker output, general
A distinction is made between the following procedures:
- Speaker output in vehicles With Code 810 (Sound system)
- Speaker output in vehicles With Code 811 (Advanced sound system)
- Speaker output in vehicles except code 810 (Sound system) and except code 811 (Advanced sound system) as of 01.12.2018
- Speaker output in vehicles except code 810 (Sound system) and except code 811 (Advanced sound system) up to 30.11.2018

Model 190
with code 810 (Sound system)
Model 190
with code 811 (Advanced sound system)
The head unit makes the volume and tone settings available to the sound system amplifier control unit the advanced sound system amplifier control unit or the Midline sound system amplifier control unit via MOST
Speaker output in vehicles With Code 810 (Sound system)
The audio signals are directed from the head unit or from the tuner unit (with code 536 (SIRIUS satellite radio) or with code 537 (Digital radio (DAB)) up to 30.11.2018) or from the TV tuner control unit (with code 865 (TV tuner) as of 01.12.2018) via MOST to the sound system amplifier control unit, where they undergo final amplification and are emitted over the following speakers using direct lines:
Model 190
with code 06U (Mercedes connect me standard services)
Model 190
with code 348 (Emergency call/assistant system)
Model 190
with code 350 (Ecall emergency call system Europe)
- Left front footwell woofer
- Right front footwell woofer
- Center instrument panel midrange speaker
- Rear woofer
- Left instrument panel tweeter
- Right instrument panel tweeter
- Left rear surround sound system midrange speaker
- Right rear surround sound system midrange speaker
- Left door midrange speaker
- Right door midrange speaker
During actuation of the speaker system, the volume is adapted to the noise level in the vehicle interior. To do so, the sound system amplifier control unit receives a vehicle speed signal via the head unit.
Model 190
with code 360 (HERMES UMTS)
Model 190
with code 362 (HERMES LTE)
The center instrument panel midrange speaker is used for voice output for telematics services with voice connection (e.g., emergency call) and, depending on the equipment installed, actuated by the emergency call system control unit (N123/4), telematics services communications module (N112/1) or HERMES control unit (N112/9).
Model 190
with code 598 (Gasoline particulate filter (OPF) with sensor system)
with code 810 (Sound system)
To optimize the engine and exhaust system sound in the vehicle interior, the sound system amplifier control unit augments the audio output with simulated sound contributions and emit the combined signals through the speaker system.
Speaker output in vehicles With Code 811 (Advanced sound system)
The audio signals are directed from the head unit or from the tuner unit (with code 536 (SIRIUS satellite radio) or with code 537 (Digital radio (DAB)) up to 30.11.2018) or from the TV tuner control unit (with code 865 (TV tuner) as of 01.12.2018) via MOST to the advanced sound system amplifier control unit, where they undergo final amplification and are emitted over the following speakers using direct lines:
- Left front footwell woofer
- Right front footwell woofer
- Center instrument panel midrange speaker
- Center instrument panel tweeter
- Rear woofer (actuation via woofer amplifier)
- Left instrument panel tweeter
- Right instrument panel tweeter
- Left rear surround sound system midrange speaker
- Right rear surround sound system midrange speaker
- Left door midrange speaker
- Right door midrange speaker
During actuation of the speaker system, the volume is adapted to the noise level in the vehicle interior. To do so, the sound system amplifier control unit receives a vehicle speed signal via the head unit.

To optimize the engine and exhaust system sound in the vehicle interior, the Advanced Sound System amplifier control unit augments the audio output with simulated sound contributions and emit the combined signals through the speaker system.
Speaker output in vehicles except code 810 (Sound system) and except code 811 (Advanced sound system) as of 01.12.2018
The audio signals are directed from the head unit or from the TV tuner control unit (with code 865 (TV tuner)) to the Midline sound system amplifier control unit via MOST. The Midline sound system amplifier control unit issues the audio signals over the following speakers using direct lines:
- Left front footwell woofer
- Right front footwell woofer
- Center instrument panel midrange speaker
- Left instrument panel tweeter
- Right instrument panel tweeter
- Left rear surround sound system midrange speaker
- Right rear surround sound system midrange speaker
