| 1 | Carry out commissioning of Audio/COMAND display (A40/8). | When replacing the audio/COMAND display (A40/8). | |

| 2 | Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m). | ||
| 3 | Remove center air vent (1). | AR83.10-P-4503RG | |
| 4 | Unclip and remove cover (2) from instrument panel. | AR68.10-P-3430RG | |
| 5 | Unclip cover (3) and remove. | Fig 1 | |
| 6 | Loosen screws (4) and pull audio/COMAND display (A40/8) out until the electrical connectors (5, 6) are accessible. | ||
| 7 | Disconnect electrical connectors (5, 6) at audio/COMAND display (A40/8). | ||
| 8 | Remove audio/COMAND display (A40/8). | Otherwise the interior equipment may be damaged. |

| 9 | Release fastening hooks (8) (arrows A) and remove cover panel (7) from audio/COMAND display (A40/8). | Model 190 as of model year 2019 When replacing Audio/COMAND display (A408). |

| 10 | Install in the reverse order. |
