1 Remove overhead control panel control unit. Model 218 AR82.20-P-1000CW

    NOTES
Pay particular attention to the cleanliness of the tools used.

3 Remove micro SD card from insertion slot (4) on the side and store it in a secure location. When replacing E-Call Russia control unit (N167).
IMPORTANT When slight pressure is applied to the back of the micro SD card, it slides out of the housing a short distance.
 
4 Release and disconnect electrical connectors (5), (6) and (7) from E-Call Russia control unit (N167).    
5 Detach E-Call Russia control unit (N167) from windshield. IMPORTANT Secure E-Call Russia control unit (N167) against falling down.  
6 Carefully route electrical wiring harness of E-Call Russia control unit (N167) in vicinity of inside rearview mirror outwards towards E-Call Russia control unit (N167).    
7 Remove residue from old adhesive film on the windshield and E-Call Russia control unit (N167). IMPORTANT When replacing the E-Call Russia control unit (N167) it is sufficient to remove the residue of the adhesive foil from the windshield.  
INSTALLING Install     
8 Attach new adhesive foil for E-Call Russia control unit (N167) on windshield. NOTES
The new adhesive foil must dry completely.
Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.

9 Remove adhesive label with WLAN password from electrical wiring harness of E-Call Russia control unit (N167). Attach the sticker with the WLAN password on the reverse of the user manual of the E-Call Russia control unit (N167) in the white field. When replacing E-Call Russia control unit (N167).
NOTES
Place the operator's manual for the E-Call Russia control unit (N167) with new adhesive label immediately into the glove compartment.
Dispose of old operator's manual for the E-Call Russia control unit (N167).
Otherwise there is a danger that they may be mixed up.
 
10 Replace E-Call Russia control unit (N167). When replacing E-Call Russia control unit (N167).
Model 117, 156, 166, 176, 190, 205, 217, 218, 222, 246, 253, 292, model 463 up to model year. 2019

    Models 172, 231 AR82.95-P-0051RK
11 Route electrical wiring harness of E-call Russia control unit (N167) above the roof lining in the area of the inside rearview mirror to the cutout for the overhead control panel control unit. NOTES
Make sure that the battery insulation is correctly installed and that electrical wiring harness is correctly routed.
Stow the electrical wiring harness as far as possible above the roof lining.
To prevent noise during driving operation.
 
CLEAN Clean     
12 Clean top side of the control unit E-Call Russia (N167). NOTES
Ensure that no fingerprints are present in the area of the bonding surface. The area between the bonding surfaces should also be free of dust, oil, grease, wax and other adhesive components or dirt residues.
To prevent adhesion problems.
 
INSPECT Check     
13 Check position, condition and the number of adhesive strips (10) on the top side of the E-Call Russia control unit (N167). Are new adhesive strips (10) needed?

Continue with operation step 12.
 
14 Detach foil from adhesive strips (10) on E-Call Russia control unit (N167). NOTES
Avoid longer waiting times after pulling off the protective foil.
To avoid getting the adhesive strips (10) dirty.
 
15 Position E-Call Russia control unit (N167) on upper edge of windshield (Line A) and align parallel with windshield. Then hold it against the adhesive foil of the windshield (arrow B) and press it firmly on the area of the adhesive strips (10). NOTES
When doing so, press on the E-Call Russia control unit (N167), but at the side only.
Otherwise, the E-Call Russia control unit (N167) will be detached from the windshield.
 
16 Connect electrical connectors (5), (6) and (7) of the E-Call Russia control unit (N167) to the associated wiring harness. NOTES
Ensure the proper routing of the electrical wiring harness, the electrical connectors (5), (6) and (7), as well as the insulation of the battery.
Stow the electrical wiring harness as far as possible above the roof lining.
To prevent noise during driving operation.
IMPORTANT The emergency call system button is activated as soon as the E-Call Russia control unit (N167) is connected to the vehicle. Make sure you avoid pressing this button unintendedly after this operating step.
 
17 Install cover of inside rearview mirror. Models 205, 253 AR68.40-P-0001LW
    Model 222 AR68.40-P-0001LF

19 Check alignment of E-call Russia control unit camera (N167), correct if necessary.   AR82.95-P-0050-02NKA 
  Initial startup     
20 Perform initial startup of E-Call Russia control unit (N167). When replacing E-Call Russia control unit (N167).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS   Model 117, 156, 166, 172, 176, 218, 231, 246, 292, model 463 up to model year. 2019 AD00.00-P-2000-04A
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS   Model 190, 205, 217, 222, 253, model 463 as of model year 2019 AD00.00-P-2000-04B
21 Read out ICCID using XENTRY Diagnosis and check against ICCID in VeDoc. When replacing E-Call Russia control unit (N167).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS   Model 117, 156, 166, 172, 176, 218, 231, 246, 292, model 463 up to model year. 2019 AD00.00-P-2000-04A
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS   Model 190, 205, 217, 222, 253, model 463 as of model year 2019
If they do not match.

Continue with operation step 19.

22 Create a "TIPS case requesting activation of the SIM card. When replacing E-Call Russia control unit (N167).

IMPORTANT Enter the following information:
FIN, brand, color of the vehicle (as described in the vehicle title of ownership) and ICCID.

23 Insert the micro SD card that was removed at the start back into the insertion slot (4). When replacing E-Call Russia control unit (N167) and if available.  
    IMPORTANT The micro SD card only fits into the device in one direction. The card is inserted to the end against small resistance, then snaps in place and is flush with the housing.
