Remove/Install Front Glass Cover - AR77.21-P-7010GQ

MODEL 166 with CODE 413 (Automatic panoramic sliding sunroof) 

MODIFICATION NOTES

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

  Notes on removal/installation of bonded elements of panoramic roof   AH77.21-P-0001-01A 
  Preparation     
1 Prepare adhesive cartridge. SPECIAL TOOL Adapter AR77.21-P-1000-01A

REMOVING Remove     
2 Completely open panoramic sliding sunroof.    
3 Determine gap dimensions between the front glass cover (1) and windshield and note. SPECIAL TOOL Feeler gauge Figure
4 Release wind deflector (2) from left and right mount.   AR77.21-P-0100GQ 
5 Remove terminal strip (3) from front glass cover (1). SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Figure
6 Cut off weatherstrip (5) with a suitable knife (6).    
7 Position shields (7) at the left and right on the front glass cover (1). SPECIAL TOOL Set of shields Figure
8 Attach a suction lifter to the front glass cover (1).

Risk of injury  due to snapping or warming up of cutting wire and due to splinters when cutting out glued panoramic roofs
Cut out front glass cover (1) with cutting wire and remove from vehicle.
Wear cut-proof gloves and safety glasses.
NOTES
Carefully insert cutting wire.
Otherwise the adjacent components can be damaged.
IMPORTANT Helper required.
IMPORTANT Observe cutting sequence. First cut (A), second cut (B), then third cut (C).

10 Remove shields (7).    
INSTALLING Install     
11 Prepare front glass cover (1) for installation.   AR77.21-P-7010-03SX 
12 Prepare body flange for installation of the front glass cover (1).   AR77.21-P-7010-02GQ 
13 Apply adhesive material to the front glass cover (1).   AR77.21-P-7010-04GQ 
14 Install front glass cover (1) with a helper. NOTES
Use weights with large surfaces such as sandbags to put load on front glass cover (1). Otherwise the front glass cover (1) can be damaged.
IMPORTANT Observe dimensions noted when aligning.

15 Remove feeler gauges. NOTES
SPECIAL TOOL Remove feeler gauges only after adhesive material has cured.
Otherwise, the gap dimensions may change.
 
16 Fasten left and right mount of the wind deflector (2).   AR77.21-P-0100GQ 
17 Close panoramic sliding roof.    
18 Remove adhesive strips and weights. NOTES
Remove adhesive strips and weights only after adhesive material is cured.
Otherwise the position of the front glass cover (1) can change.
 
CLEAN Clean     
19 Clean working area.
