Drain/fill low-temperature circuit coolant - AR09.41-P-6834MNZ

DANGER Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

REMOVING Remove     
1 Open engine hood   AR88.40-P-1000GG
2 Remove engine cover (3)    
3 Raise vehicle   AR00.60-P-1000G
4 Remove lower engine compartment paneling Model 463 with engine 279
as of model year 2016
except code ZQ0 (G 500 4x42 )

  Drain off     
5 Unscrew cap (1) on low-temperature circuit coolant expansion reservoir (2)    
6 Open drain screw (4) IMPORTANT Catch coolant in a suitable container.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace drain screw (4) and seal.
 
  Pour in     
7 Tighten drain screw (4) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Drain screw to additional engine radiator low-temperature circuit *BA20.20-P-1003-01P 
8 Add coolant and bleed low-temperature circuit   AR20.00-P-1142-04A
IMPORTANT Use clean coolant.  
FLUID SPECIFICATION Cooling system *BF20.00-P-1001-02GA

INSPECT Check     
9 Check low-temperature circuit for leaktightness   AR09.41-P-1011MUD 
10 Check coolant level IMPORTANT The coolant level in a cold engine must be level with the marking (arrow) in the coolant expansion reservoir for the low-temperature circuit (2). When the coolant is warm, about 1 cm (0.39 inch) above the marking.  
11 Tighten down cap (1) on low-temperature circuit coolant expansion reservoir (2)    
DANGER Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
12 Perform an engine test run and check cooling system for proper operation
