Location 

The control unit for the trunk lid control is located at the left in the trunk close to the C-pillar between an intermediate panel and the panel.

Location 

The liftgate control unit is fastened at the top left in the load compartment beneath the cover.

The trunk lid control unit or liftgate control unit has the following tasks:

• Reading in of sensors and signals

The input factors are read in via the following connections:

• Interior CAN (CAN B) 

Direct line 

The signals from the following components are read via direct line:

• Trunk lid/liftgate control Hall sensor (M51/3b1) (model 213.2)
• Trunk lid/liftgate control position sensor (M51/3b2) (model 213.0/1)

Interior CAN 

The following signals, among others, are read in via interior CAN:

• Vehicle speed (from instrument cluster (A1))
• Status of driver trunk lid/liftgate control button (S15/3) (left front door control unit (N69/1))
• Status of the trunk lid/liftgate lock (A85/5) (Rear SAM control unit (N10/8))
• Status of trunk lid/liftgate control button (S62/26) (rear SAM control unit)
• Circuit 15 status from electronic ignition lock control unit (N73)
• Status of open trunk lid/liftgate button on transmitter key (A8/1) (Electronic ignition lock control unit)
• Status of rear switching module (N38) (with code 871 (HANDS-FREE ACCESS)) (KEYLESS-GO control unit (N69/5))
• Status of opening angle limit (electronic ignition lock control unit)

Evaluation of input factors 

The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.
